La Marjal Floodable Park in Alicante, Spain, merges ecological resilience with urban beauty. Designed to absorb stormwater through natural wetland systems, it transforms flood risk into a vibrant public landscape. Native vegetation, biodiversity corridors, and accessible pathways create an inclusive green space where sustainability meets community life. A pioneering example of regenerative urban design, it embodies the New European Bauhaus values: beautiful, sustainable, and together.

Zaragoza is transforming schoolyards into vibrant, green urban oases! "Adapt your schoolyard" turns grey concrete into climate-resilient havens. By merging nature-based solutions with co-design from students and families, we create cool, healthy shelters against extreme heat. This pioneering model blends sustainability, social inclusion, and beauty, turning every playground into a living classroom. From 2 pilots to 72 schools, we are building a healthier future for our children.

The Mihai Eminescu Trust has implemented the first nature-based wastewater system in rural Romania, in the UNESCO heritage village of Viscri. Through constructed ponds and natural filtration by aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, the system protects groundwater, preserves historic buildings, and ensures public health. The integrated, transdisciplinary approach and community-led maintenance support long-term water resilience and provide a replicable, cost-effective model for small communities.

The Small Town Biotope Vöcklabruck transforms a vacant historic building into an inclusive urban hub where business, culture, and social services thrive together. Around 80 people – including employees with disabilities – co-create a solidarity-based economic model in the heart of the city. With shared infrastructure, accessible design, and consumption-free spaces, it revitalises the town centre and strengthens local democracy, participation, and community life.

The therapeutic garden at VDNG is a public space for defenders, veterans, and everyone seeking recovery. It merges landscape architecture with therapy, creating inclusive zones shaped by research with veterans, their families, and experts. As a pilot, it establishes a new national standard for healing infrastructure. The space functions as a social reintegration tool, providing sensory-safe environments that reduce stress and help people reclaim their sense of self in a shared urban setting.

The Gardens4Good project brings together European citizens to co-create and co- steward rooftop gardens for positive social impact. We leverage previously unused spaces to create gardens on the roofs of buildings housing fragile populations, such as Alzheimer retirement homes & social apartments, providing the residents with intergenerational educational activities that lead to a sense of purpose, creativity & ,inclusion, as well as increased consumption of healthy, locally-produced foods.

The first children’s hospice in the Czech Republic. A facility providing palliative and respite care, therapy, and comprehensive support for families facing the most difficult life situations. The hospice is conceived as a refuge — a place where families can experience these moments with dignity, find peace and acceptance, and receive support from those around them. It offers rest, closeness, and solitude when needed most, while also allowing moments of ordinary life and joyful gatherings.

Madrid Río reimagines infrastructure as a shared civic landscape in Madrid. Along the Manzanares River, it brings together nature, culture and community; turning a former barrier into a space that is sustainable, inclusive and beautiful.

In Zeitz — a post-industrial town in Eastern Germany where 46% of residents vote for far-right parties and with almost no cultural life for children — children from local families and children with refugee experience created a circus carnival together. For months they trained, made costumes and prepared their own statements — about the city, about dreams, about what matters to them. The carnival became a point of dialogue between communities that live in separate language bubbles.

The Globe Performing Space is a geodesic cultural hub in the Bologna Apennines where performing arts, nature and community come together. Created by Instabili Vaganti Theatre Company, it transforms a rural inner area into a living space for artistic creation, residencies, training and public encounters, showing how culture can generate beauty, inclusion and long lasting territorial regeneration.

Located in the UN Buffer Zone in Nicosia, Europe’s last divided capital, the Social Impact Generator transforms a military container into a living innovation lab and the world’s first innovation hub in a buffer zone. Through accelerators, hackathons, and mentorship programmes, the hub empowers conflict-affected youth and entrepreneurs to co-create sustainable, NEB-aligned solutions, turning a space of division into a platform for inclusive innovation, dialogue, and shared futures.

FURKAN Gdynia helps local communities build a more resilient food system - from diagnosis to education, cooperation and public action. Working across Gdynia and its surrounding municipalities, the project connects producers, residents, institutions and local ambassadors to strengthen plant-based food production, share practical knowledge and create tools that can support long-term transformation in other places as well.

Certain waterbirds have adapted to the city life by weaving human waste into their nests. Meer Koet, Minder Afval transforms this behaviour into a collaboration. Custom-designed floating platforms invite all waterbirds to breed safely on urban canals. While building nests, birds such as coots gather human litter from the water. After the breeding season, the nests full of human waste are collected, sorted, and recycled, making coots active participants in urban waste management.

Terra-Mosaic is an innovative AgTech platform allowing urban citizens to invest in the ecological restoration of abandoned farmland. By fractionalizing land ownership, we empower young, landless farmers to implement regenerative agriculture and revive dying rural communities. Investors get a financial return, premium local produce, and the joy of watching their landscape bloom. We bridge city savings and rural revival to create beautiful, climate-resilient ecosystems.

This project focuses on the Juvenile Educational Institution SC Logatec, examining how spaces of care affect the community’s perception of those within them. By exploring new forms of collective living and integrated services, the design fosters active participation in community life. The transformation positions public space at the heart of the institution, shifting it from a symbol of exclusion to a catalyst for public life, becoming not an isolated facility, but a place in its own right.

Traviata in Three Acts transforms a neighbourhood into a living stage, where residents and artists co-create a multidisciplinary public opera using existing architecture as the stage. By replacing Alfredo’s father with society, it reveals how collective pressure shapes personal choices. With a reimagined ending as a wedding, the project turns tragedy into a shared act of acceptance, making the story of Violetta and Alfredo in La Traviata local, understandable, and open to all.

The Living Factory transforms the former FAT industrial site from a disconnected "urban island" into a breathable neighborhood. By removing old barriers, a new grid creates a green connector for the community. At its core, historic red-brick halls are reborn as The Hubs, vibrant spaces for local workshops, studios, and small businesses. It is an "ever-awake" district where living, working, and nature coexist.

Casa da Azenha transforms a tradicional family olive mill into a vibrant "Living Lab" in Santa Cruz do Douro. We blend five generations of heritage with social innovation, using sustainable enotourism to revive ancestral traditions and combat rural depopulation. By empowering local producers and sharing our oral history through podcasts, we prove that rural roots are the foundation for a beautiful, inclusive, and sustainable European future.

Formform helps architects turn vague client conversations into clear design input before key decisions are made. Through an adaptive, research-informed digital process, it captures routines, priorities, emotional needs, and household dynamics, then translates them into design input architects can use directly. By improving the brief, Formform supports more inclusive, meaningful, and better-fitting homes.

The project proposes the transformation of the "Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque" into an equipped park, redifining this environment through the implementation of urban orchards and the construction of 147 social housing units. Initially intended as temporary accommodation for the residents of the La Pau neighbourhood during the renovation of their homes, these will evolve into an emergency social housing offer. It restores the Besòs river agriculture and educates on a sustainable lifestyle.
