"Village Square Meer" is a citizen-led initiative to revitalize a historic convent, a listed national monument and landscape in the heart of the rural village of Meer. Abandoned after the school closed, the site was reclaimed through architectural interventions, adaptive reuse, landscape design, and cultural programming. Now open to the public, it gives the village its first-ever central square—honoring history while creating a vibrant, accessible gathering space for the community.

The programme is aimed at two different groups of people with different objectives, but united by their contribution to the challenges of the rural world and climate change. Illa Glòries is a residential block serving as a key urban transition in Barcelona, structured around two green courtyards fostering community life. The Room Community building's walkways enclose one of these courtyards while mediating collective and private spaces to reinforce belonging. Its sustainable wooden structure and flexible design challenge conventional models, offering adaptable layouts that evolve with residents' needs while integrating a gender-sensitive approach to domestic spaces.

The increasing use of container parks in Brussels is evidence of an ideological transition among citizens. Recycling is an attitude we increasingly share. The way we see our waste is changing and is giving container parks a more positive connotation, forming an essential link in the circular economy. Embedding the Recyparks as closely as possible to the inhabitants is becoming a real urban challenge: the aim is to avoid pushing them back to the outskirts of the city.
