This eco-project was born from a desire to merge tradition with design. On one hectare of land, we plant and grow gourds - or, as we call them in Albanian, Leka - which have deep significance in our culture. Once used for showers, they hold a special place in our heritage. By reusing these gourds, we give them new meaning and purpose. Grown with care and with my family's help, these gourds go through a year-long process of planting, nurturing, and drying before being transformed into lamps.

Co-created with citizens, students, volunteers, urban planners and other experts it fosters environmental literacy, recreation, and resilience, offering a multifunctional green space for all.

The SOBROTERHOOD Project provided a well aligned collaboration between the youngsters and the elderly community in the Neighbourhood of Sobreiro, in the city of Maia (Portugal), as to develop an ideas contest aimed to incorporate biophilic design for the re-activation of an area at the core of the neighbourhood with no function at the present date. What was later developed was a true mentorship logic where these two very different groups of individuals designed the future of this space.

The Peterbos 9 project in Anderlecht, Brussels, concerns the renovation of a building with 80 social housing units and 4 small commercial spaces, part of a large social housing development from the 1970s.The design of the project is twofold: on the one hand, it renews the technical equipment and (common) interior spaces of the existing building. On the other hand, it introduces an independent structure on both long facades, adding a winter garden to each apartment located on the upper floors.

[15:21, 2/11/2025] Marnela: tributes to the co… [15:41, 2/11/2025] Marnela: The project aims to engage students in caring for the environment. We ourselves are the cause of environmental pollution. Creating a small corner in our school where we plant flowers, trees and take care of them would enable a better quality education for students. The future is the new generations. Educating them with love for the environment will bring a change in the future. The garden in our school does not only aim
