A path of social and participatory innovation guided the process of the International Competition “Abitare Villa Mater.” Involving citizens, associations, experts and planners, it has resulted in the transformation of a historic property into sustainable and inclusive senior housing for the self-sufficient over-60s. A residential model that encourages active longevity and regenerates the neighborhood, creating benefits for residents and the community.

The SO|STA - Lo Spazio dello Stare project, promoted by the student collective Let’s Meet of the University of Basilicata, has redeveloped the green spaces of the Matera campus, promoting aggregation, study and connection with nature. Held in September 2024, it was an intensive workshop based on sustainability and self-design. It involved students, communities, and schools, promoting interdisciplinary exchanges, strengthening the sense of belonging, and the conscious management of common spaces.

The project aims to highlight the cultural heritage of Asturias. To this end, a series of ephemeral architecture installations are built in relation to prominent elements of the territory, linked by the common theme of Coal Mining Heritage. Alongside them, a programme of cultural and participatory activities contributes to temporarily activating the selected places. The combined action of installations and programme fosters the interconnection between inherited memories and envisioned futures.

The renaturation of the Emscher is progressing, and with it, the opportunities to transform its riverbanks into tangible spaces for people to experience are growing. In the eastern Ruhr area, DTP has succeeded to do this. They designed the Emscher-Promenade. This area along the water runs from Castrop-Rauxel via Recklinghausen and Herne to Herten. It not only connects cities but has also turned the Emscher into an attractive part of neighborhoods, cities, and the whole region.
