Hiša Mandrova is a grass root initiative led by local craftsmen to revive and pass on nearly forgotten skills of traditional carpentry: hand hewing and timber frame construction - a preindustrial crafts typical for the forest-covered border region of Loški Potok, SW Slovenia. The project engages its community members through unique, inspiring creative workshops, that foster human connections, nurture craftsmanship, and spark positive change in the world.

A collaborative effort between civil society, city administration, policymakers, and researchers made sustainable urban development a tangible reality. The UTOPIA residence is a new address in the town of Bruz, located on the edge of the Herverie square, a stone's throw from the town centre. It is a quiet building set on the slope of the land, a large vessel whose prow, open onto the public garden, invites residents to enter an interior world sheltered by a glass roof. Here, natural light is everywhere, even in the car park, and flora is invited to every floor, even on the roof.

We have launched a pioneering Green Waste Management Center, supported by the Barcelona Provincial Council, IRTA, and IRI-UPC. This innovative center reduces recycling costs, processes green waste from nearby towns within a 50km radius (which minimizes the carbon footprint by providing a closer disposal point), and fosters a circular economy by converting waste into compost and biomass for municipal boilers. The center is run by AI and is part of the Smart Region Platform.
