This is a call for aid applications aimed at granting subsidies throughout the province of Palencia to smaller local entities. The purpose is to promote and incentivize volunteer actions among the population of Palencia for the improvement of shared spaces within their locality. This will be achieved through the selection of initiatives that foster shared involvement and responsibility, recognizing the common good as a means to enhance living conditions, reviving the spirit of collaboration.

Rathaus is a cultural arts center, a labyrinth of ideas, a cozy rat’s nest nestled in the heart of Piacenza, Italy. We host an average of six free events each week, including talks and discussion groups, film screenings, workshops, and live music. These initiatives promote active engagement and communion amongst the participants, and they are primarily developed in collaboration with residents, informal groups, and associations. We strive to create an intimate space where everyone feels at home.

Stadsgrond's earth construction workshops in Rotterdam aid newcomers' integration into Dutch society. By teaching them to transform local clay waste from construction sites into building materials, the initiative reduces emissions, creates jobs and fosters cross-cultural exchange of sustainable building practices. Celebrating shared heritage through earth building emphasizes shared values and encourages acceptance and appreciation of cultural differences.

From “care space” to “space that heals” has been the vision that guided the architectural restyling and energy rehabilitation project of the Centro Soranzo - Residence for Addiction Care, carried out through a participatory process that involved various professionals working at the care centre as well as the resident guests, broadening the reflection on the relationship between the method of care and space.

Designed on the basis of a co-creation process with the inhabitants. The building houses mixed functions: housing, offices and a large area devoted to shared community spaces. Today, it is important to re-think the way we live. The philosophy being to agree to reduce the size of one's individual accommodation by compensating with shared spaces. This is certainly the most important thing: to create links, to energize interactions, to create a place that promotes exchanges, mutual aid and sharing.

Our project aims to establish a welcoming space where diverse social groups—local residents, children, internally displaced persons (IDPs), veterans, and their families—can meet, collaborate, and realize their potential. By fostering community bonds and shared purpose, this initiative strives to create an environment that supports social integration, empowerment, and resilience.

Space to Place is a project that turns empty and forgotten spaces into vibrant social hubs for the community, breathing new life into reused materials and creating places of connection, creativity, and inclusion.

Located in the Danube Delta, Romania, MIP-CIC is a modern cultural landmark blending cutting-edge architecture with sustainable practices. Beyond its memorial function, honoring Ivan Patzaichin's legacy, it fosters community-driven innovation, intergenerational dialogue, and collaboration. Serving as a hub for education, sustainable development & cultural events, it empowers Delta communities, showcasing their heritage. It contributes to local regeneration, creating a renewed sense of belonging.

The city we will live in by the year 2050 will largely consist of today's existing structures. Therefore, the project "Wiener Klimahöfe" explores the potentials of underused courtyards in Vienna’s working-class district of Hernals into climate-resilient spaces for a city getting hotter. Through walks, workshops, and community engagement, residents reimagine their courtyards as vital climate adaptation spaces - addressing urban heat while strengthening social and ecological resilience.

The RHIOS Strategy of the Municipality of Santarém is a transformative approach to the sustainable management of Water Resources, integrating environmental innovation, ecological restoration and the active participation of citizens, through flagship projects that restore river connectivity, apply Nature-Based Solutions, conserve native Biodiversity with the aim of having a positive impact on the well-being of local communities by improving Riverine Ecosystems and Restoring Nature.
