It has attracted visitors interested in the town’s cultural offerings, contributing to the development of the village

Project consisting of 9 permanent lighting design interventions in 9 squares in the historic center of Genoa. The projects were entrusted to 9 different lighting designers belonging to the Women in Lighting Italy network. The installations were designed after listening to the area to understand the needs. The intent is to make these portions of the city, normally considered critical and poorly frequented, more liveable, creating a greater sense of belonging to those who still live there.

The project renovates two buildings in Barcelona’s Gràcia neighborhood to house the new headquarters of Fundació Maria Raventós, a non-profit supporting young mothers in vulnerable situations. Focused on long-term empowerment, the design adapts spaces to evolving needs while ensuring environmental and economic sustainability. The transformation integrates social, technical, and energy-efficient solutions, balancing functionality with cost efficiency.

Light is essential for cities' functioning after dark, but light pollution must decrease. At the community park Kerstroosplein, we found a new balance between light for safe use and minimising ecological impact. The revolutionary participatory approach 'Light Sketching' enabled a creative conversation between residents and nature about light, through light. The resulting lighting has strikingly low levels and impact, yet is loved by residents and points to a future of light in urban green areas.

The Oasi della Forcina is an example of how PNRR funds have been used to address environmental challenges, transforming them into opportunities for renaturalization. The intervention involved the demolition of concrete structures and the restoration of the original natural habitat. This project promotes community well-being and also contributes to environmental protection, restoring an area of great ecological and cultural value to the public.

the “Lycée avant le Lycée” project proposes to demonstrate the opening of the doors of the high school before its construction, by transforming the classic exercise of building a school into an experimental, cultural and open worksite installed on the site itself from 2019.

Project applies interactive eco-mural painting as the platform to open up informed discussion amongst youth about a just energy transition in local coal-impacted communities in Serbia. EnergySuperheroes comic characters are drawn with air-cleaning paint, and later brought to interactive life via an Augmented Reality app. Interactive discussions and artistic workshops are topped with a tree planting activity, drawing a full circle with a message that noone should be left out.

BUNHO – EDS purpose is to promote the artisanal production of Bunho with the aim of revitalising the art in contemporary market standards, including a training component based on the principles of innovation and Design Thinking methodologies, providing human capital training geared towards entrepreneurship based on the multidisciplinary study of the art and the Bunho artisan community in Santarém, which constitute the benchmark for a Sustainable Development model based on Ecosystem Services.

The cooperative project represents a successful approach to combining today’s challenges with intelligent building solutions, energy efficiency, affordable rents, and social and cultural goals. Despite the creation of additional apartments and common areas, the size and quality of the outdoor space were maintained. The new variety of service facilities and a mixture of households guarantees lifelong perspectives, social cohesion, an architectural landmark, and a win-win situation.

Field of Sparks is a genre-creating blueprint of change: an interethnic, cross-cultural cooperation and enthusiasm. It is a socio-art project and an open platform for architects, artists, and locals to build and nurture a new narrative around the village of Ipolytarnóc and the CEE region, using art as a common language to create new perspectives on identity, community, and local values.
