Gleis 21 is in the heart of the new quarter in Vienna: The Sonnwendviertel forms a bridge between the tenth district and the inner-city area. Visible from afar, the wooden facade already signals a contrast to the familiar urban look. The wood hybrid construction is a technical innovation with a role model. Created through participation, the residents own, operate and manage the co-housing-project collectively themselves with a great external impact.
“Hanzas perons” is the former railway warehouse in Riga, repurposed as a multi-functional cultural event space. The existing structure is seemingly left untouched through the careful restoration of its historic patina and its envelopment in a glass structure, further complemented by contemporary details. It is a major development in Riga’s architectural and cultural cityscape and has already hosted numerous diverse happenings, starting the regeneration process of the whole “New Hanza” district.
Our community garden project, Ulia Garden, is focused on transforming a former plant nursery into a community garden managed by local citizens. This project is driven by urban regeneration and agroecological community action. It is nurtured by the voluntary work of many people who, by getting their hands in the soil, seek to weave new relationships between committed citizens, integrate the care of nature as a central concept, and share the beautiful essence of life and a common project.
The project MARCHIVUM reflects a culture of reconstruction that combines sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion. A former World War II-era bunker has been transformed into a beautiful and both socially and energy smart home for the city’s archive that provides a vibrant place for research, education and exhibitions. The MARCHIVUM’s new top floors, made of glass, provide transparency and create a connection to the residents of the neighbourhood.
Five projects of unique play areas are designed and co-created specifically for every location and with the children of the neighbor schools, which generate new dynamics in the daily life of the families. They turn everyday play into a sensory, aesthetic and symbolic experience that brings them closer to a world of imagination and exploration; become new spaces of reference in the city, building new social, sustainable, inclusive, community and intergenerational relationships around the game.
Provide a solution to the learning challenges of the 21st century through the co-design of the new educational facilities for the LEINN degree at Mondragón University in Oñati. The new spaces go beyond the traditional classroom helping to enhance the learning experience with a social, open and inclusive perspective. The space stimulates learning, fosters creativity, participation and spatial appropriation by the users who inhabit it.
“Kalderimi X2” comprised a participatory building project and a hands-on educational program, aiming to restore a 400m long drystone cobbled pathway in the rural community of Plaka (Epirus, Greece) in 2019. It combined a two-month apprenticeship in traditional stonemasonry for nine young craftsmen from Greece and other Balkan countries, and a two-week workshop targeting a broader audience, thus consolidating an endangered material knowledge and exploring its potential in contemporary contexts.

The project for the new façade of Imeter srl's headquarters is based on a reinterpretation of the area's road context, conceiving a structurally independent system that configures the façade as an infrastructural system.
A system of brise soleil made of perforated and folded sheet metal shapes the external skin of the building and configures a filtering space between inside and outside, in which light is calibrated to ensure the best environmental comfort inside the building.
An existing campus in Dornbirn, Austria is transformed from a monotonous asphalt area, into a diverse program for all user groups. Existing users, which is mostly students, are invited to contribute in creating new public areas from upcycled materials. An industrial building on the campus will be repurposed as the New European Bauhaus. Focusing on creative spaces, learning by doing, and learning with play for students and children, we are proposing one of the solutions for a sustainable future.
