Boost for Small Municipalities: All applications

Through an Integrated Renovation Methodology (IRM), residents and stakeholders co-create a shared vision for Santa Ana neighbourhood, and implement actions to achieve it. One key initiative is transforming a parking lot into a vibrant public space using tactical urbanism. This collaborative process has involved multiple phases of community co-creation and testing, gathering valuable feedback. Now, we are ready to finalize a permanent design that truly reflects the residents' needs and desires.

The Municipality of Gavdos bought in 2021 an abandoned building in the village of Vatsiana on Gavdos island,the southermost point of Europe.The building is at the center of this traditional village and its total image downgraded the whole area.Via funding programs such as LEADER and GREEN FUND we are trying to complete the project.We aim to create a cultural workshop (for traditional products),to have showcases for geological and archaeological findings,or host seminars,actions,etc

Once known as a 'The ugly duckling', abandoned and devoid of life, this small village underwent an extraordinary transformation in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. As cities became overcrowded and stressful, people sought out quieter, more sustainable lifestyles. This little village, once overlooked and forgotten, became a beacon of hope for those seeking a fresh start.

The regeneration of the whole building complex envisages a process of re-appropriation of the park, through targeted co-programme and partaking processes. The redevelopment of all structures within it, the monitoring and rehabilitation of green spaces, the inclusion of new spaces and services for playing, studying and working, and the launch of new community networks and public-private partnerships for the management of the full area and all buildings.

The Rothenburg Way wants a city worth living in. It prioritises human and aesthetic needs over those of traffic and the economy. It makes monuments usable and counteracts urban sprawl; the living space created is ideal for single households and multi-generational concepts. By being sensitive to what has grown, it ensures social balance, cultural diversity and high design, structural and ecological quality in line with the Leipzig Charter of 2007.

The D’Artagnan – Café Rando & Creative Hub transforms a former village pub into a vibrant, multi-functional space, bringing together a shared artisan boutique, a welcoming café for hikers, and creative workshops for all generations. Rooted in sustainability, circular economy, and community participation, the project breathes new life into rural heritage while supporting local artisans, eco-tourism, and social connections.

Caporciano, a small village in Abruzzo, barely two hours by car from Rome, is becoming extinct – a fate it shares with many other small towns in the region that have been hit by migration to the cities since the mid-twentieth century. The devastating earthquake of 2009 destroyed not only many houses, but also many residents’ confidence. The reconstruction effort, which is heavily funded by the Italian state, is mainly aiming to restore past conditions.

Like the butterfly's metamorphosis, the renovation of the canteen and the school-yard transform this site beautiful, biodiversity friendly, healthy for human, healthy for nature. We take care to reuse materials, to use natural materials like wood, to include green roof, solar heating, outdoor greenery theatre, biodiversity area. The users - pupils, teachers, public agents, elected representatives are involved during the decision-making process. The main purpose is making a global healthy area

The village of Csór in Hungary, with a population of 2000 inhabitants, is located on the eastern slope of the Bakony Mountains. The project aims to establish the EURÓ-PArk in a previously unmaintained area. The park would feature models of rural assets (typical buildings, technologies) from different European countries, and the typical traditional way of life of. As a community space, it could be the venue for cultural and gastronomic events for local people, neighbouring villages and twin towns

“Plaça Sant Fermí” is being reimagined into a greener, more accessible, and climate-resilient public space. Through sustainable paving, shading structures, and improved urban design, the initiative enhances comfort, inclusivity, and environmental quality, creating a vibrant, people-centered square at the heart of Senyera.
