NEB Prizes 2022: All Applications

Co-neighbouring is a design exploration that aims to examine the possibilities of resident’s engagement and collaboration. In an apartment building for rent, where resident’s agency is limited to their private apartment, I invited my neighbors to become active designers of our closest environment together. This project explores what kind of innovations become possible when residents get the chance to contribute to the development of the building they live in.

The main objective of the project is to seek social awareness in diversity and equality, in these times when certain hate speeches have increased in our society, we believe that it is more necessary than ever to give a voice to the people of the lgtbi collective so that they can tell their experiences and experiences in first person and from empathy, the struggle for equality and respect for diversity we can move forward as a society.

We are a nonprofit organization that creates socially engaged, people-centered activities. For more than 10 years we’ve run the biggest festival of contemporary art in abandoned spaces in Sofia, including the Water Tower Art Fest 2006 - 2016. We see this as a logical transformation to a residency/mentor program.

Water tower art residency – decentralized edition Varna in September 2021 we launched the first decentralized edition of our initiative in Varna 

nilak is an itinerant performance space with a circus tent that works as a theatre in Catalan regions that do not have a theatre of their own (26% of the total of the regions).Its nomadic character wants to decentralise performance arts and move them away from the big urban centres, thus making villages the epicentre for contemporary performance arts. This model allows us to reach whatever village and to build a theatre with all the technical equipment needed for a presentation of a performance.

We are Arcadia Design. We envision a design that changes as you do. Rather than fix interiors, we prefer objects that you can modify to make them exactly what you need. EASYDiA and EASYoLo are modular chairs and table for children that are safe, healthy, circular, educational, creative and especially yours. They can be personilised, restored, regenerated, used and reused creatively.. to stay with you and your family as long as possible!

The Design Terrae Bootcamp was an innovative summer campus for higher education in design, an open and inclusive project based on the idea that design is first of all, an attitude that draws from the past to jump into the future. An immersive experience with a learning by doing approach that dealt with upcycling and waste valorization of one of the most iconic chairs in the history of design, the no. 14 by Michael Thonet.

Kolonistugan is an artistic development work within the framework of my research with a focus on local cyclical resource flows. The design touches on areas such as local non-toxic food supply. Strategies for an "of the grid" existence. Architecture with local cyclical resource flows, biodiversity and urban cultivation.

3 years of experimentations are necessary to transform a common old shop into a habitable sculpture combining sustainability, poetry & innovation in the Parisian nest of Romanticism.

Each element of daily life (handle, air, spoon, insulation) is the subject of reflecting & challenging 80 disciplines (dressmaker, metal industrial, sommelier, plumber) to obtain new experiences & objects; all dialoguing together thanks to use, form, color.

The fuel: pleasure to excel/build together.

The emergency works to consolidate Morella Castle, interior town with 2500 inhabitants (in an inland area, depending on tourism) have been made following the general criterion to restore and consolidate the existing masonry, maintaining their ruinous physiognomy, avoiding reinterpretation of the original state. Areas that were in ruins have been made accessible and passable, adding public spaces for population. Also, a stratigraphic mural analysis has been considered to analyse the microhistory.

SENSHome Smart objects are furnishings developed as part of a project financed by the EU. The designed furniture is combined with integrated sensors and can be able to accommodate the specificities of ASD people. These objects can support an autonomous life and can provide for the creation of more “sensitive” spaces. A non-intrusive technology detects critical situations and offers help in case of emergency. This smart solution can be a valuable help for caregivers and ASD people themselves.
