Palingen is an ethical and sustainable tailoring laboratory providing a new opportunity to vulnerable women and textile waste. We recover clothes and fabrics otherwise destined for disposal and regenerate them in new collections and accessories manufactured by female inmates that intend to thrive into a new beginning.

The Thalassic Masks project focuses on re-thinking the protective mask, transforming a medical product, born in a state of emergency, into a design statement expressing contemporary identities.

Drawing inspiration from marine forms, Thalassic combines biomimetic design techniques, additive manufacturing and physiological analysis to create a new breed of masks,  rethinking the relationship between technology, in the form of wearable objects, and the human body. 

The area of "Los Bañales" (Uncastillo, Zaragoza, Spain), hosted a spectacular city in the Roman period, later in ruins, that during the Middle Ages remained a space for the preservation of local memory and of pilgrimage. In the years prior to the pandemic (2018 to 2020) and with the collaboration of students from the University of Navarra, a project of recovery and socialization was developed that has turned the archaeological site into a space of identity, visited and culturally managed.

The book offers a wealth of ideas and techniques, applicable at the city level as well as at the country level.

The goal is to bring people together, to enthuse the population to work together, to work with the Nature, for more and more positive changes.

ARVIVA is a French non-profit organisation gathering more than 200 artists, producers, technicians, public workers, creation, production and performance venues, festivals, artistic teams and operators in the performing arts. They act together towards a common goal: to undertake the ecological transformation of the moving arts sector and act with no delay for a fair and sustainable world. They commit to change their work practices to make a change and the most of the potential impact of arts.

Kiubo adapts to life. Modular spaces can be created and adapted as organically as the rhythm of life itself and align with urban planning requirements. The realised concept stands for comprehensive sustainable housing of the future, for more quality and efficiency via serial construction, and for affordability according to the needs of the residents. The hybrid system is distinctive, moveable, and flexible. Kiubo is a platform for boundless ideas.

Every year 92millions of tonnes of waste are produced by the fashion industry. 15% of wasted materials are produced during garment manufacturing. Trying to solve this issue companies now use automatic nesting softwares to gain a few centimeters of fabric but never reaching the 0 waste. The zero-waste pattern making technique eliminates textile waste at the design stage, today no industrial cutting is available for 0 waste designers. We developed a system to allow 0 waste automated cutting.

Bottom Up! is a new format of generative and replicable festival of architecture, which promotes practices of urban and social transformation arising from the real needs of the communities, from the bottom up. Through co-design with architects, crowdfunding and communication initiatives, ideas can materialize into projects. In 2020 Bottom up! involved 105 communities in Turin (Italy), with 11 projects selected through a call for proposals. The festival ended, the 11 projects are now underway.

Circular design plays a central role on the way to a circular economy. In order to provide actors in the product development process with a powerful but simple tool for the design of circular products, the Institute of Design Research Vienna has developed the Circular Design Rules. Based on scientific design research, the result is a system intervention with a set of only 9 rules, changing the way the industrial ecosystem works.

“Food for the Earth – Composting Communities for Climate” project was awarded in the contest of Climate Community Lab. It was born from a cross-border collaboration between Urban Cultor startup in Bucharest, Romania, and Our Neighborhood Association for Sustainable Practices in Bulgaria.
