In 1924 in an Andalusian mountain village, Europe's greatest engineering minds, using pioneering technology, built the Hundidero Dam and Cave infrastructure to harness the water power of the Montejaque Reservoir. It was a monumental failure. Fundación Sierra de Libar & the Ayuntamiento de Montejaque have regenerated the abandoned area, creating a cultural, ethnographic and biodiverse heritage site, returning access to the natural and man-made monuments to the local people and the world.

Wunderbugs is a project designed to make humans, insects and plants coexist within a single ecosystem. An active and participatory space that, thanks to the collaboration of citizens, performs intensive investigations on the biodiversity of urban areas, helping to restore an integral vision of the city while regulating the anthropogenic activity of man.

A run-down factory in a small suburb has gently been transformed into a unique meeting point. With strong focus on sustainability and social connection this project provides inspiration to a different lifestyle, and a counterforce to the threat of being run over by the ongoing urbanization.

A butterfly speaks in ultraviolet light, a bat navigates with sound beyond our ears. An orchid's voice is chemistry and color. Outside our human sensory range, we do not realize that we hurt them or how much our well-being depends on barely visible ecosystems. Through environmentally-informed listening workshops, children learn, imagine and translate these voices into a concert. A film captures the journey from Athens to Mt. Hymettus where children sing nature's concert for the surrounding city.

This playground is located in Balsa de Ves, a village with a population of 131. It sits on the plot that was once occupied by the school. Demolished in 2019, the building was devoted to multiple uses but education since the school closed in 1972. But still, children remain the target audience, even if children lack in the village. To negotiate this paradox, the elements that shape it have been designed in a deliberately ambiguous way in order to adapt to multiple uses and different ages.

"Nature for the Senses" is an innovative programme that offers visitors attractive tourist experiences in the natural areas near the Paradores. During these experiences, created between Paradores and local providers, visitors can enjoy the natural space through emotional and exciting experiences in nature following a suggestive theme linked with the protection and enjoyment of the natural environment and its biodiversity.
