Horst is a movement dedicated to developing talent, cities, and spaces. We blend & celebrate the worlds of art, architecture and music. We annually organise a Lab, Exhibition and Festival and shape them as momentums of transformative energy. In the past 7 years, Horst has grown into an internationally renowned platform for cutting-edge electronic music, in-situ artworks, inspiring workshops and inventive and circular architecture.

Design and building construction sectors failed to take an integrated approach towards quality, price, and sustainability. This is due to a lack of collaboration and cooperation within and outside supply chains that leads to the go-to-market of (new) products. Cycloop fills the gap in the know-how of manufacturers, fostering collaboration among actors in the supply chains of design, building construction, and textile making them better off and positively impacting people and the environment.

Wouldn't it be nice to imagine the Appian Way as an open-air museum for everyone? In which walking along the Roman Way would be safe, healthy and peaceful for everyone?

We propose a project based on participation that puts together sustainable mobility, accessibility and education.

This project is a buffalo barn and an educational trail into their Natura 2000 land that is wholly covered with reeds. The aim of the representatives of Sándorfalva was also to immigrate buffalos to there, hence visitors would have the chance to visit the reeds and meet these wonderful creatures in their living environment at the same time. While it was a design task on one hand, it was more like a task to reinterpret the built environment in natural landscape on the other.

Riología by the artist Robertina Šebjanič with Instituto Mutante de Narrativas Ambientales de Matadero Madrid is divided into four parts: the citizen science action with 500 volunteers conducting an analysis of the Manzanares River’s ecosystem; the booklet Riología,  converts the procedure of scientific-artistic research into a prototype; the artist’s performance visualising the data collected in the river; and the artwork, exploring the river’s memory in deep time.

Role-playing games (RPG) are narrative-driven games of the imagination in which players take on the roles of imaginary characters. I want to share my interest in imaginative games because their energy allows young people in Generation X for utopian ideas to materialize by helping us imagine equality and justice. “Empowering RPG” is a new way to join forces to fight climate change and think together about the future of our society and planet. 

The design is an experimental attempt to rethink the building material -lime- in terms of its material gesture and to transpose lime in its purest possible form. Having the material „very present at all time“ was the idea of re-using the excavation on site as the actual building material. The challenge was further the understanding of what is already there and how materials take impact towards design and the general attitude as an architect.

The COOLING BRICKS are a ceramic cooling vessel collection designed by Helene Lauppe. They bring the archaic principle of evaporative cooling into today’s kitchen. The high humidity and cool temperatures inside the containers keeps fruit and vegetables fresh, but yoghurt, butter and cheese can also be stored.

Biotic City is a research-action project to transform in a broad, permanent and real way how the current city is designed and built. It is a new model of habitat designed through an experimental co-creative process for the social and ecological transformation of the city.

Biotic City is the theoretical framework of Agroplaza, an urban ecological equipment model, based in participatory design processes with local communities and spaces within different european locations.

Inaugurated in the 30's, the W. Churchill residence is one of the oldest in Habitat 76. With its remarkable architecture, protected by a local protection plan, it marks the main entrance to Le Havre. This residence was built to meet the needs of the inhabitants but these needs have evolved and with them the need to modernize it completely. Habitat 76 has made every effort to ensure that this rehabilitation brings it modernity and attractiveness without compromising its identity.
