The urgent question is: how can we do better for our children and by our children? How can we support family? Urban life and technology impact all aspects of family life. Higher economic standard and smaller number of children in families did not result in more attention and connection. Stress and endless to-do-lists rob the families. They need support to get out of urban flats, off the screens and reunite estranged connections outside, within organized, yet spontaneous environment.

Urban Safe Crossings are safe and accessible pedestrian crossings designed to meet the needs of all residents, including people with disabilities. The increasing number of individuals with limited mobility highlights the importance of an accessible urban environment. Our project ensures seamless and comfortable movement throughout the city, helping to make streets inclusive for everyone.

In 2025 the Baltic states are leaving the BRELL power grid. To ensure Latvia’s energy independence, experts suggest a small modular nuclear power plant. The “Irbene” research center is designed to collaborate with a high-security nuclear facility, adding functionality to industrial sites while integrating with the Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center. Its architecture is inspired by the ionizing radiation symbol, reflecting its connection to advanced energy research.

Our proposal introduces an Augmented Reality (AR) system for the Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) to enhance navigation and user experience. Using mobile devices, users can scan the port area, view 3D markers for ships, docks, taxis, and key locations, and access real-time schedules. This smart port solution benefits passengers, boosts local services, and fosters innovation through a University of Piraeus collaboration, improving both practical navigation and economic activity.

The Bio Banana Notebook is a simple notebook made by hand using only the matter leftover from the banana fruit production, to make the cover, the pages, the ink for the lines, and the string to join all in a notebook that is safely biodegradable or compostable in your home garden.

Biosphere Solar is developing a lamination-free PV module, a solar panel that is fully modular by design. The panel can be taken apart in easy steps, enabling for the first time ever in the solar market: complete repair, refurbishment and recycling of solar panels, in a simple and cost-effective way. The dis-assemblable design of PV panels enable a longer product life span, as well as extraction of valuable raw materials, and a more cost-efficient manufacturing.

Can we rethink living through its memory? The Last House proposes transforming abandoned structures into places where life and death coexist within collective memory. Addressing urban and demographic challenges, this concept rethinks the reuse of heritage for burial purposes. By embracing the surrounding context, local resources, community needs and culture, the cemetery is redefined as a contemplative environment where life is honoured through memory and presence.

A digital marketplace connecting local artisans, small businesses, and producers with nearby consumers, promoting sustainability through circular economy practices, such as second-hand and recycled products. By fostering inclusive local trade, it reduces environmental impact, optimizes distribution, and empowers communities. With accessible design and participatory governance, it enhances regional economic resilience and creates a lasting sense of belonging.

The renovation of Krasnodvir Castle aims to transform the area surrounding the remnants of the town's oldest building, blending its rich history with the modern urban landscape of Nadvirna. The project will feature beautiful landscaping with native, non-invasive plants and creating a step-free public space around the historic landmark. It will also actively promote the historical, cultural and natural heritage of Nadvirna, a historical settlement near the Carpathian foothills.
