Faro is an authentic motivational system that questions the automatisms of mankind related to the rejection of material. The main goal of the proposed project is to motivate and inspire the public to sort and reduce waste in cities and educate the young generation in the field of a circular economy in order to achieve an environment without waste as one of its main components.
Responsive tile is a ceramic module that changes color according to weather conditions, specifically temperature variation. The tile is a low-tech/high tech-sensing artifact, which aims to convey awareness of water scarcity in urban contexts. This information is given in a playful manner, using reversible properties of thermochromic inks to convey content. The tile is module that behaves like a physical interactive device that can be assembled as a wall.
Our project is located in the Halle des Messageries, near the Saint Lazare train station in Paris. It consists in rehabilitating an industrial monument into a site for food logistics and shared living spaces. In the perspective of future evolutions of living, working and gathering modes, we designed a model of evolutive and multifunctional structure, wich can support various and fluctuating uses. This model offers an alternative to the obsolescence of buildings and be applied in every cities.
PLATTENBAU sees itself on the one hand as a homage to the spatial concept of the young Bauhaus, and on the other hand as a universal learning and teaching aid that serves to understand complex topics and helps to communicate by using space relations and abstraction.
The ability to imagine is trained on abstract elements as relations in space and can as principle, be applied to any scale and complex of themes. This stimulates holistic thinking and makes it tangible and by this thinkable.
The Scuola dei Quartieri (SdQ) is a free civic school of social innovation open to all citizens and spread throughout the city.
Conceived as a capability-building programme that continues the tradition of Milan's "civic schools", it contributes to the transformation of some disadvantaged neighbourhoods, spreading the ability to design social impact solutions that respond to the desires, needs and aptitudes of the inhabitants.
Without classrooms, it takes place where people live and work.
The ACCEPT project, funded by the Polisocial Award 2019 of Politecnico di Milano, addresses designing physiotherapy product, focusing on climbing training for children with Cerebral Palsy (CP). The multidisciplinary team of Politecnico developed ACCEPT, an adapted, senzorized and reconfigurable climbing wall, optimised for children with CP between 6- and 11-year-old in partnership with FightTheStroke, a foundation protecting the rights of young people with CP and their families.
PROJECT_16 began with a simple question: ‘How would you like art to engage with your city?’. Comprised of three site-specific projects in the streets of Lahore, São Paulo and London, PROJECT_16 collaborated with artists with participatory and social practices to reflect on questions of public space and its audiences. It offered a proposal of how to make and share sustainable art in the future, in order to encourage critical thinking, social change, as well as to create and activate communities.
During the time we spent at this place, we began to dream together. We started thinking and discussing its future shape. We dared to name our concerns about our future lives. Not only here, in the territory of Železný Újezd, but all over the world. Is it possible to create a model project on how to live in the landscape again? Rediscovering the ancient knowledge of the elementary roots of man and nature, manifestations, and the formation of the cultural landscape?
This project highlights a huge disruption in the footwear market - the opportunity for every person and small business to create and produce new and radical shoes.
Entering this market requires a lot of investment and capital, that's why 3D printing opens the doors to progressive and more niche ideas.
