For a 100m2 ceiling above a studio in Seehof Castle in Lunz am See, 130 different 3D-printed concrete recess bodies were digitally planned, automatically produced and moved on the construction site. The architectural implementation is a symbiosis of an immersive spatial effect, static effectiveness and resource efficiency. The wide-span roof construction stands for a sustainable approach to the use of reinforced concrete, which relies on economical digital production methods to save resources.

Ljubljana is a university town. Student life and university-related activities have left a big mark on its lively atmosphere in the last hundred years of University’s presence in the centre of Ljubljana. Nevertheless, the town’s identity is in danger of being watered down as a consequence of intensive turistification. Proposed project introduces student housing typology that can adapt to specific urban situations, thus enriching neglected areas of Ljubljana’s broader town centre. 

The business idea is based on urban regeneration and service innovation by creating a multifunctional centre in a green lung, redeveloping an unused and worthless area offering services to the citizens of Catania's outer belt.
The project combines social and commercial purposes and represents an example of socially innovative entrepreneurship: as a first step, the park will be made usable again, then accommodation, cultural, sports, study, commercial and research activities will be integrated.

The Alder Project is a deep dive to understand and research the tree as a being and material to be used in design practices. During the project forest trips are made and documented, an alder tree is cut down, used for furniture and the leftovers are researched as a new wood based biomaterial. The project ties together the sustainability and moral questions behind material use, aesthetics of the forests and beauty of the forest-human relationship we are all part off.

Mending Termini Station is a utopian but possible Rome, a multicentric and interconnected, sustainable and inclusive city. It is the definition of a method able to manage and direct urban transformation, putting together interventions that too often are spread over the city without having a chance to resonate together. It is the need for a strategic planning as the only possible way to design the sustainable development of the city as a complex organism.

Concept: In the future, consumers will no longer throw away one-way packaging, but will refill it in stores at suitable "refilling stations“
Forecast: Substantial reduction in plastic waste -one product replaces 50 products.

Loop is modular furniture, which implement reuse of waste and secondary materials - those generated as a result of consumption, as well as those that are a side effect of production. It is important that Loop also enables the reuse of currently intensively used face masks and the waste generated during their production. Loop furniture can be used both as a seat or a table with a cushion placed on the floor. This product is foldable and flat packed for easy storage and sustainable distribution.

The KlaRUCH is one piece of furniture that contains all the necessary equipment in a child's room and grows with it. It includes a safe play area on a raised platform, a climbing wall, a sleeping area, a study area, as well as storage space for clothes and books. It effectively uses the entire height of the room, thanks to which it takes up a minimal floor plan dimension and is therefore placeable in any space. During the child's life, it adapts to his needs by simple (reversible) modifications.

Define, design and prototype new ways of partioning and improving the quality of living spaces. Partion solutions were developed by multitalented teams with architects, designers, manufacturers and marketing people from the furniture and construction industries. The main objective was to design partitions in order to optimize living space with multifunctional and scalable partitions. Those partitions are made of wood, bio-based or re-used materials; in other words "low impact" solutions.

All art and design universities must address the climate crisis. This is Klasse Klima's mission, a student-led seminar series and education collective based at University of the Arts Berlin. We are building a transnational network with groups from other art schools, connecting them through innovative digital infrastructure and a fluid joint corpus of transformative knowledge and practices: a synergetic push towards a sustainable and inclusive shift in aesthetic education in Europe and beyond!
