Theform is a multidisciplinary design studio based on computational design and digital fabrication, focused on co-creation and immersive customization experiences. Spaces are socially produced (Lefebvre & Nicholson-Smith, 2009) and are not only a conception of architects and urbanists. By allowing citizens to be part of the city building process, the multiplicity of the ‘natural city’ can be allowed to emerge through appropriation. The flexi-podium is a user-controlled installation. Community members could reserves spaces, modify it to their needs and invite others in the community extending the Dutch tradition of legibility in public realm design.

Our building system uses local & natural materials (stone, wood, straw, earth) to create houses that are low-impact, healthy, super-insulated, durable and beautiful. We also cultivate productive, diverse "edible landscapes" for food and fuel.

Future residents as well as students and volunteers take part in the work, learning new skills while building self-reliance and community

Global warming potentials, health aspects, recyclability, separability and flexibility are the main sustainability factors in the future building process. EPEA made it possible to connect these aspects based on the Cradle to Cradle principle with BIM. This complex interrelationship for a consistent circular economy is overcome using a combination of different software. Thereby, the BIM model is able to depict the c2c parameters using clear colouring to indicate the elements' quality.

We focus on the transformation of tenement block's courtyards into new cores of community life. With the design and installation of digitally fabricated sets of furniture and graphics, we aim to stimulate more interaction between urban residents through fine art, music, theatre, puppetry, and games for kids, vibrant cultural life in the courtyards maintaining social distancing measures daily.
12. Specific

The Quechua folding armchair has become the symbol of the urban nomad in France.This affordable object represents a new way of taking over the street.
Our intention was to reinterpret it by taking inspiration from it and hybridizing it with the Wassily armchair designed by Marcel Breuer during his studies at the Bauhaus. This led to a new folding chair that represents the essence of the Hall (our urban environnement) Haus (design) organisation and a new vision in design field. 

OpenStructures is a design methodology for modular and cooperative construction. It facilitates circular material flows and simplifies repair and reuse. By anticipating and integrating future adjustments into the DNA of building components, it generates widely interchangeable parts and objects that can be adapted and repaired indefinitely. OpenStructures unfolds through an ongoing exploration by a community of authors that test and evaluate its potential in a variety of disciplines.
