This Project brings together 17 museums Austrian-wide, to develop activities for each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by the UN. For the first time ever, internationally, a broad range of cultural institutions work together to contribute to a sustainable social transformation. Activities range from raising awareness to leading discourse to generating solutions and acting as role models. Thus, a strong sense of belonging is achieved among staff members, stakeholders and local communities.
The project is an example of a new type of responsible and holistic design for children and the whole community. The school yard is like a park and serves all the different users in all times. Sustainability from all perspectives was considered throughout the design process in material selection, in functionality, and via the participative design process. The learning landscape encourages creative play and offers opportunities for nature observation and contact with nature.

Maptionnaire is a solution for listening to the community and its members. With our service, cities, consultancies and research organizations can achieve a broader and more inclusive reach (compared to “traditional”, face-to-face engagement alone). It also allows for the typically silent minority in e.g. city planning processes to voice out their views and opinions about the plans. By using Maptionnaire, the entire engagement process can be more transparent and promote good governance.
