Summary
Self-construction of modular houses with family effort via circular economy. Using 30 PIRCA moulds in 60 days, a proper house can be built to a family with costs very close to zero. The massive use of this method not only empowers these families to solve their housing problems, it also generates jobs and significantly influences to the ecological conservation of the area due the high use of recycled and recovered materials (plastics, glass and used tyres with proper granulometry can be used massively). The morphology of the pieces produced allows high-speed execution and ease of incorporation of other disciplines (plumbing, electricity, ventilation, isolation or passive fire barriers).
The use of these molds globally is a non-technological construction bet for developing countries, presupposing a high decrease in production of greenhouse gases associated to housing and other industries related to it, such as transport and large-scale cement production. The final purpose of the project is a low use of cement (or not use at all) in favor of lime for construction, sand and sea water, emulating Roman concrete from the 1st and 2nd centuries still in use even near/ under the sea (Ex: Rome Pantheon). Adobe can be used too.
The pieces are reusables with antiseismic design. With the correct use of cercamic recycled tiles, the prefabicated pieces produced using PIRCA moulds can be made completely finished (interior and exterior ) to be placed directly on walls and floors.
Key objectives for sustainability
The project presupposes low-cost construction in areas of natural disasters / war conflicts / low income to empower families to solve their housing infrastructure problems. The use of this method implies the creation of jobs worldwide and the ecological recovery due the high use of recycling materials from beaches and oceans / debris produced by wars or natural disasters. It is modular, anti-seismic and reusable method, with facilities to produce houses at costs close to zero. Structures based on an special morphology of the pieces produced by the PIRCA mould provides facilities not only to be placed in walls and floors, in adittion introduce new facilities to incorporate other disciplines linked with construction (plumbing, electricity, A/A, isolation etc). Plastics, glass and used tyres with proper granulometry can be used massively in concrete formulation in this no tech bet for housing in development countries globally. No electrical energy at all can be a choice using human effort.
Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
PIRCA mould was designed inspirated on Walter Gropius metalic mould for Germany reconstruction after the Second World War (see last file with photos of Gropius mould). PIRCA was designed (and ready to produce) to be injected using recovered plastic in 3d printer and is ready to massive production using steel matrix for recovered plastic injection plants.
The system was proved in ptototype format and the pieces were tested using Schmidt Hammer for strengh measures. The antiseysmic test were made at scale 1:2 pieces and 1:1 pieces with very good results. The relation between 3 dimension can be change to reach more stability or pieces depending of the seismology characteristics of the particulary country.
The mould doesn´t need maintenance and it´s very low weight means the possibility to send it via ordinary mail to any place in the World. No special indication need to be follow for a proper use of the moulds and some signs directly in the 4 faces help end-users to proper assembly of it. Key objectives for inclusion
1home1dream program using PIRCA moulds can be use worldwide. NO limits in gender, age and idioms. Is easy to use and inclusive. Is very instutitive and a wabpage with NO special difficult reading can be reviewed worlwide via mobile phone or computer. One of the sides now are available on the web for free 3d impression on request. We are the owner of the patent and in the future, when 3d prints decrease prices and its spare parts and filaments reach lower prices and the velocity of the printers increase ten times, any people with no special skills can print the 4 sides of the mold by theirselves.
The opportunities accessibility and affordability will depend of new generation of 3d printers for family or community use.
Certainly the public/political/NGO´s participation can be very high because the simplicity and low cost of our bet mean new kind of housing worldwide.
Results in relation to category
The planet has two important problems to resolve inmediately to never ignore again. For one side, the 50% of the actual global warming is relative to construction and the industries linked with it (any kind of construction : civil, industrial, housing etc). In the other side, 200 000 new births daily as average in Earth (UN statistics - see Worldometer - estadísticas del mundo en tiempo real (worldometers.info)). This means a construction of a million city weekly and this is a big problem if we construct this amount of new houses with traditional procedures. The CO2 concentration will be to much for the planet in less than 50 years. Some criteria asume plastic production with high levels of CO2 concentrations will mean in 50 years more plastics floating in oceans than total fish mass on oceans. With our innovation this problem can be solve globally and the global implementation of our bet can be the first steps to stop the actual tendence.
Our bet will provide to development countries a tool to save the planet from warming avoiding new millions of climatical refugees in order to help then to resolve their problems directly in original zones with no traspassing that problems to other continents. (see PIRCAPROJECT - YouTube )
How Citizens benefit
Our innovation involves mainly people who are lliving under 5 euros/day and thats means the 70% of the World Population. Our bet is a new product, easy to use, no special knowledge is necesary to use PIRCA moulds and at the same time, it´s price is very low (lower than 5 euros EXW) and anybody can receive it via ordinary mail worldwide. Thats means everybody can help to construct by their own, a proper family house and at the same time help to the enviroment. The blocks can be produced almost with 70% of waste material (with a proper granulometry) and adobe can be used too. Our bet is for construct incremental houses depending of family effort and resources than the family can bring to a common target, a house with the proper condition for humans.
NGO´s and affected cityhalls by wars and natural disasters worldwide can help for the implementation of our project. Now the project is trying to spread this simple idea wider as possible because the pollution in the planet need to be stopped as soon as possible with the effort of everybody. All the political/social levels of a village/town/city/country can help if they accept the challenge to construct paralelly at the same time in their ratio with our bet with a very low carbon emission to the enviroment.

Innovative character
Our innovation means a new product and a new way to massive and pararell construction worldwide. Is completly impossible in the next 50 years continue using the actual conventionals procedures of construction because we will destroy the planet before that. Our bet is one solution to the urgent housing problems in war / disasters / low income zones mainly in development countries.
People with extreme poverty can´t use traditional ways to construct (because the incremental expensive costs) and with our innovation people can construct depending of their capacities inside the family effort. No need to emigrate to other places carriying problems to other zones, countries or continents.
The bet can help to avoid massive arrive of climate refugees. New kind of wars and new kind of natural disasters produced by the actual pollution worlwide can be stopped partially o totally but we need to take care inmediatelly.
The actual procedures of construction and other industries linked with construction means the 50% of actual global warminig tendencies.
Our bet means empowering people to construct, increase or repair millions of houses mainly in develpment countries.
The recycled concrete was approved in Europe some years ago but certainly isn´t a normal way for housing. Big constructors never take this choice even with these new normatives in Europe.
