The new City Circle Line (Cityringen) metro, expands the Copenhagen's existing system, and is a key part of the city's drive to become carbon neutral by 2025. The new line seeks to encourage more residents out of their car and onto a more environmentally-friendly mass transit network. 17 new stations ensures that a majority of the residents will be within 600 metres of a train or metro station. Stations have been carefully embedded into the city, providing a civic space for the local community.

Through the images of the Sicilian landscape made by Edward Lear in his nineteenth-century tour of the island, compared with geo-localized aerial photos of the same places, the project aims to rediscover the current territory. By combining history, art, and new technologies, criticalities will emerge in the urban and rural landscape. The inclusive dialogue with local communities, through exhibitions and public debates, can suggest new sustainable models of regeneration.

TRANSITION is a playful and inviting experimentation of public spaces developed by the Kulturforum Witten (Germany). The 3-year program (20-22) is created within a network of cultural institutions, independent artists and initiatives. We conquer remote, empty and monofunctional places, redefining them via artistic practice and leading therefore to social innovation.TRANSITION is offering diverse communities (esp. vulnerable groups and young adults) ressources and space for cultural participation

What if “teachers leave the kids alone”? No teachers, no alumni. Just a different, inclusive, and ever-evolving community in a pilot project. An interdisciplinary education model with tangible and open-access information will be ensured through the real-time graphic on the effects of sustainability, quality of experience, and inclusion on people’s wellbeing. What better way to educate than “learning by participating”?

When the competition for the Agora came out, we realize it was an opportunity for architecture to participate in the making of a social network. Based on a participative and insightful sociological study over the needs of San Pedro de Visma and its inhabitants, hit hard during the 80’ by unemployment, drugs and social imbalances, we designed Agora as a place, a civic space for gathering where different generations could construct and share a social network of connivance.

The Citizen Railway Station (Bürgerbahnhof Plagwitz BBP) is a former industrial railway station that now turned into a 12-hectare green zone. The City Administration of Leipzig and the foundation “Ecken wecken”’ manage the continuous transformation in a co-creative process. Today this inclusive and vibrant place already hosts many activities such as a construction playground, urban gardens, animal habitats, an urban forest, ball game field, graffiti areas and a café – and more is to come.

This new building has been realized in timber frame structure which is not only characterized through the ecological aspect but goes well together with the natural product corn. From the architectural point of view the goal of the planning was not only a simple silo tower but a building which symbolizes the ears of a wheat field as well as the water which moves the mill wheels. The concept has been inspired by the traditionally used “Troadkasten” (old corn storage) of old Austrian farmers.

The aim of "EcoBioPrinter"  is to develop an economical and ecological prototype of raw earth 3d printing gantry for the construction of elementary habitats.Faced with the challenges of global warming and the reduction of carbon footprint, earth seems to be a good material. EcoBioPrinter is an open-source project that makes accessible to everyone the habitats printing. A another goal is to create a 3d printing maker community of earth building for preserves the know-how of earth construction.

Varvsstaden, the former docklands of Malmö, is now being transformed into a vibrant part of the city. The process has an intense focus on recycling, which not only saves useful parts of the old shipyard from being waste, but also add substantial cultural qualities to the new premises. A large collection of lamps, doors, stairs and other items are now retrofitted into the new facilities that are established in the industrial heritage as it is reborn as office space, cafés, etc. 

At Theodolindenstr. 18b in Munich, a striking but outdated 14-storey apartment building was completely modernized. The building was gutted, the floor plans changed to be tenant-friendly, fire protection upgraded and the furnishings of the flats and apartments updated according to modern and technically up-to-date standards. A total of 96 rental apartments were created, which are primarily available as inexpensive living space for employees of a neighbouring hospital.
