NEB Prizes 2021: All Applications

Flatgallery has been operating for nine years (since December 2012) as a gallery of contemporary art in the private spaces of an apartment in the center of Bratislava, capital of Slovak republic. It´s very specific project of a residential gallery with a clearly conceived exhibition plan. The gallery is focused on the professional presentation of contemporary visual art under the expert guidance of art historian Andrej Jaroš as well as invited curators.

Verk works exclusively with Swedish materials and produce all our furniture in Sweden.

We want to help strengthen and support the manufacturing industry that still exists in Sweden. We have the raw materials needed for furniture production – wood, steel, leather, wool, stone – but most are exported rather than used locally. Our goal is to inspire and inform about the importance of home-grown expertise and production through transparent communication, and to contribute to change.

Urban life and history shape the natural treasure ‘Middle Pader Springs’ in Paderborn, which offers biodiversity, a better urban climate, ecological integrity and high-quality, barrier-free recreational opportunities. Ecological upgrading and integration of the urban wilderness into a legible interdisciplinary urban-planning concept are central objectives of the redesign, along with new bridges, improved pathways, the historic Haxthausengarten and the Paderhallen forecourt.

A sensory journey within the Gesso and Stura River Park that allows the visitor to develop direct and emotional contact with nature, in particular with water, through paths and landscapes to experience "Naturally, walking with senses"

The transformation of former railway sites for new uses such as the creation open spaces combining uses and nature conservation is among the current tasks of landscape architecture in today's big cities. The concerns for habitat conservation were pivotal in the design of this green corridor on the edge of the so-called "Gleislinse", as the preservation and integration of existing biotopes for sand lizards or the rare stonecrop were an important part of our concept. 

La Sevilla de los Oficios (The Seville of crafts), is a project whose main objective is to bring together our heritage of arts and crafts with vulnerable groups. We consider that access to heritage is a right and normalises full inclusion in society. To this end, we will build an itinerary through inhabited places where craftsmen and craftswomen work, and we will develop as well a series of workshops that promote social cohesion and a shared sense of this heritage.

ReutilizaK, is a project based on circular economy principles aiming at creating networks of re-using electronic devises towards the reduction of digital divide and promoting sustainability.The project seeks to increase the digital  inclusion of people living in fragile social  contexts through the distribution  of repaired and reused electronic devises  donated by companies, and by the implementation of digital innovative trainings on ICTs.

Start Park is the co-design of green-blue infrastructures in urban parks to make communities more resilient to climate change and extreme weather events. The Start Park project enhances outdated design and architecture of city greenspaces through the use of nature-based solutions. The project diffuses climate change awareness to citizens and creates socio-economic value for private and public stakeholders. 

Compocity makes transforming food waste easy, fun, and educational. The indoor eco-robot has unique microorganisms that convert food waste into compost in just a few weeks without odors or daily maintenance. Built-in sensors monitor the compost's quality, and users can check their progress and share it with friends. In addition, the system includes an application that turns the entire process into a fun game. So it isn't just about the compost; it's about what compost can do for your community.

In the heart of the Campus, the Museo is an open, hiving space where the collections inspire artists, the artists inspire participants and the society. Through an innovative program, based in our Collection and impulsed by the visual and the performing arts, the MUN and its transdisciplinary art approach upscales the legacies and transfers to the society -from schoolchildren to the eldest- the artistic tools, values and spirit aiming to improve life through art and its meaningful experiences.
