Key objectives for sustainability

Environmental measures that will be implemented within the project Gallery, which is part of the household, has been recycling waste for a long time as part of the separate waste collection of the capital city of Bratislava. It also undertakes to secondarily use packaging material (bubble foils) for works after the end of the exhibition in which it was originally packaged. For the transport of works, visitors, authors to and from Bratislava, rail transport, electric cars, as well as within the city, will use ecological public transport, if possible. During social events, the gallery has used exclusively glass and porcelain service since its inception (2012), instead of disposable plastic materials. Invitations to individual events / exhibitions will be sent in electronic form via email. From 2021, we plan to completely eliminate the production of paper leaflets and texts, in the form of a digital presentation (gif) on electronic tablets on the gallery walls.

Innovative character

The Flatgallery  is a very unique gallery of its type (residential gallery in a living private space), which is unique not only in the capital Bratislava, but in Slovakia as a whole. The co-owner of the gallery and at the same time the curator of the exhibitions - Andrej Jaroš gives a personal curatorial interpretation about the exhibitions to the public in an unconventional way. It is important to interact with the audience / visitors to the gallery and to evoke feelings of informal space and to relax the atmosphere in the intimate environment of a private apartment. The group of foreign tourists is very numerous, because Flatgallery is included in the "must to see" list in Bratislava.
