The request form the town hall to rehabilitate the façade of an existing ruin in the city centre was the starting point to the project, a new weding space for civil ceremonies. An intervention in a building that was need for its survival, but even more, a pleasant space that dignifies civil wedings, available to all citizens in Alcalá de Henares

Built in the 16th and the 17th century and temporarily used as a malthouse, the dilapidated building has been brought back to life after an extensive renovation. Today it functions as a multi-purpose community centre in Lauterhofen, a rural town in the Upper Palatinate region. The architecture of the new old malthouse compliments its history while being applicable to modern day usage. As a place of cultural exchange it reconnects the community to their history and their shared heritage.

The doorstep theatre project Art Yard is a format that innovatively connects theatre creation in public space with social engagement. It is art that builds communities! With its help, we at Ana Monro Theatre address people that might be very different from one another, but live in a mutual local space, and help them connect, develop a cooperation among themselves and among different generations and, as a result, encourage building of communities in newly-built housing estates.
EDMOS is more than a material: it is a conscious technology of upcycling. We focus on carefully reusing the leftovers from leather or textiles, reassembling them into new skins. EDMOS preserves the natural sensorial qualities of the original material. Each skin can be treated according to any creative input or functional requirement: laminated, embossed and so on. EDMOS is open to collaborations to generate new material from your own stock or leftovers. We believe in making the industry circular
With a new building in 2021, the German Emigration Center sets an architectural sign for a sense of belonging for all in Germany, an immigration country. The museum ensemble shows that migration is part of our history, present and future. The new permanent exhibition with its digital spaces for thinking offers a high quality of knowledge and experience. The newly founded Academy for Comparative Migration Studies (ACOMIS) promotes sustainable participation of all in social negotiation processes.
A residual plot was used to provide 132 residential units in the immediate vicinity of the University of Wuppertal. The location was deemed impossible to develop for a long time due to its very narrow layout and extreme slope. The passive-house standard was able to reduce power consumption to 40% of the EnEV requirements. The building method using a high proportion of wood ensures CO2 savings of more than 200 tons. The façade can be mostly dismantled sorted by type to be reused.
Circular economy. More environmental performance, a smarter use of the floor, a better management of investment and maintenance costs, and a strong will to embody the City of Paris innovative and proactive commitment towards reusing materials and building with a concern for landscape. Thus, the solid oak façade of the building is entirely built up from reused and transformed landing doors. This wooden second skin gives to the building a sense of cohesiveness, of air, light and porosity.
The Academy for Design offers state approved continuing vocational education and training (CVET) for skilled craftspeople from various fields to be a “Designer in the skilled crafts”. Within 1.200 hours architects, designers and craft-artists, teach them how to transfer and apply design strategies into crafts, and by this how to conceptualise ideas for daily life. Sustainable material and the concept of universal design and accessability for all are the foundation for their products/ ideas.
