Wanna eat for free with little work? A forest is a diverse, functional ecosystem, like all other ecosystems, its resilience is reliant on both diversity and its matured design. Without proper species diversity, its not an actual ecosystem, just a tree plantation.

The geography, biology and ecology of an area is crucial for recreating any habitat. That is why tree plantations will never become true forests, yet this unwise practice remains to be common practice. We need forests, not plantations!

Tierras en danza is a contemporary dance project designed for rural areas with two different approaches. On the one hand, a summer intensive for professional dancers which brings people all over the world to improve their dance experience, learn about sports science, practice sports and enjoy nature. On the other hand, a free contemporary dance festival with shows, exhibitions, workshops, videodance projections...all of them planned fot the citizens to get to know this kind of art.

The birthplace of the future reflects the values of the EU: sustainable, inclusive and beautiful. It’s a community center where we welcome new life to our society and empower woman through community. Woman can meet during and after pregnancy to share knowledge and to give birth in a self-determined and medically secured way. The concept is revolutionizing childbirth by putting the needs of women first. The future begins where new life is born.

Once cultivated fields, the remaining trees were confined to the borders and surroundings of a small river. The plot of small ditches and canals close to it and the disuse made possible the emergence of a riparian forest (a).This forest constitutes in itself a filter, which is an element of protection for diverse fauna and flora (b).In addition, the river is able to sponge this forest creating a space channel throughout the same (c).The architectural project starts precisely from these concepts.

Cose Care is a service design project developed in all its tangible and intagible aspects. It is a home, a space, a laboratory in which people can renew their old clothes through recreational and co-creative activities that come in contact with their emotional sphere. According to the philosopher Remo Bodei we are able to construct relations of meaning with our things (cose) and through the art of repair we are able to enter in contact with them transforming them in beloved things (care). 

More than ever, the way we work and live is questioned. The proposal aims to create a hybrid between a typical housing and an office building. The 2 programs are merged into a one building forming a new typology. This hybrid generates new spaces in the Antwerp’s Ring (area in constant mutation). The bipolarity of the plot reflects the opposition between living and working: to the south large office buildings form the landscape, while to the north there are only neo-classical housings.

The Stay Human Lab investigated how teaching design through the practice of speculative design, with its projection into the future, makes it possible to construct an educational model that trains designers who are conscious of the environmental, economic & social implications of the act of design

How can we teach urban planning and urban design in the contemporary moment while it is obvious that in general they do not produce urban spaces where people feel at home? We think that in such cases space per se has been ignored.

The methodology is teaching students of architecture and landscape architecture to understand space as a non-linear complex system with the aim to reconstruct urban, peri-urban and suburban spaces in a more humane, beautiful and sustainable environments.

In 2017 TalTech demonstrated how to reach nearly Zero Energy Building performance by applying prefabricated deep renovation technology on a five-storey apartment building in Tallinn. By now the project has served as a proof of concept for prefabricated renovation solutions in policy, production and design. The project has boosted uptake of the technology, led the way for a grant scheme replicating industrialized renovation and served as a showcase for various stakeholders for knowledge exchange.
