This prefabricated building from 1974 faced demolition due to its rigid and closed-off floorplan, its outdated thermal comfort, and obsolete technical equipment.
However, considering the material value in place and the spatial potential of the structure, the commitment (and gamble) was made to update the construction both functionally, socially and technically.
In France, we produce more than 2.3 million tonnes of plastic packaging per year. 24% are recycled.
I am focusing on LDPE film for professional use. It is used to wrap pallets during transport or for hay bales. I am looking for a waste transformation process that requires few steps in the process and low energy.
My goal in this project is to close the life cycle of waste by reintroducing it directly into the company, in a short circuit logic and also to give another vision of this waste.
Why our architectural heritage is so often neglected and forgotten? How can elderly people be a part of modern society without being left isolated? Generation Bridge is an attempt to connect young and elderly people by pilot co-housing project within the context of forgotten remainings of medieval walls. Old fortifications complemented with habitation units and surrounded by green urban park will become sustainable transformation giving new life to currently neglected cultural heritage.

PIONIRA was founded in 2019 by Lena and Charlotte as a platform for inspiration and collaboration. We subjectively curate projects, authentic places and the people behind them. We share philosophies and knowledge through conversations, photography, videos and words.
The old Urania cinema is a typical back-building in the block of Kvaternik Square. The reconstruction was planned to convert it into an office space and a cultural center open for the public. One of the main goals of the adaptation was to integrate new cultural spaces into the existing historic fabric and re-open the building to the public. The new Urania houses cultural events – lectures, exhibitions, theatre plays, film projections, workshops, and space for NGOs to organize their events.
“Nestos-Rodopi Trail” is a 70.6 km long hiking route starting from Xanthi, northern Greece. In 6 day sections it covers the straits of River Nestos
and part of the Rodopi mountain range, an area of rich natural beauty, history and culture. It was awarded the "LQT – Leading
Quality Trails" certification of the European Ramblers Association. In addition, a network of 4 trails in the greater area brings the total length of the project's route to over 100kms.
The BUGA Wood Pavilion celebrates a new approach to digital timber construction. The stunning wooden roof spans 30 meters over a public event area, using a minimum amount of material while also generating a unique architectural space. The pavilion was developed by a interdisciplinary team of architects, engineers, scientists, craft and public stakeholders. Due to its innovative building system it can be fully reassembled at a new location and completely recycled at the structures end-of-life.
Root is a co-managing service system for urban communities that aims to transform biowaste into local resources for shared gardening, providing city dwellers with purpose, control and support to take collective action. As a result, local and more transparent resource loops are created in an inclusive and sustainable way, generating more purposeful, aware, connected and social communities and richer, more meaningful urban landscapes. It is about designing for change.
The creation of plastic was revolutionary, unfortunately due to its misuse it has become a problem for the environment. Building construction is the second industry to produce large quantities of plastic in the world. The need to create an alternative has become imminent. This proposal is focused on bioplastic, a novel material that could be applied to temporary architecture due to its ephemeral nature to tackle the problem of waste.

1000 vegetable gardens for citizens is an innovative project about work training activities for people with Down syndrome or intellectual disabilities, supported by educators.
The aims of this project are: to enhance their ability at work, to improve their skills , to have a more active role in society, to promote self-empowerment and to increase personal well-being.
