NEB Prizes 2023: All Applications

The ENTREPRENEURSHIP NATURE-WISE course comprises 4 topic-based, innovative, intensive workshops that focus on the core skills required to communicate efficiently and confidently in a variety of professional business contexts related to nature. Emphasis is placed on inclusion, as students from different classes and abilities will be working together, as well as natural surroundings, as visits will be conducted to businesses that are related to nature and products derived from it.

Urban Trajectories is an integrated project that aims to promote the social growth and educational well-being of boys and girls between 11 and 17 years old by involving the educating communities of different neighborhoods arranged on two axes of the city of Palermo. The project proposes a model of educational, cultural and sports offerings built with and for the young people who benefit from them, mainly in extracurricular settings, but building generative alliances with schools in the area.

This project aims to transform the education process. It is designed to became an educational natural ecosystem, which promotes a culture of health and well-being, a culture of democratic and participative citizenship and a culture of sustainable and ecologic regeneration. This educational ecosystem is designed to promote a set of essential skills for the sustainable development of human societies. A local project with a global thinking.

Right in the middle of the city, where we need to rediscover nature the most, the Solar House is a laboratory to reconnect with the rythm of nature. A slower, deeper, kinder way of inhabiting the house, the neighborhood, the city, the world.

Learning by making: experts, inhabitants and youth co-design and co-renovate one of the poorest areas in France, the Nord and Pas-de-Calais Mining Basin.
Energetic renovation of 25 mining houses as a prototype to adapt for other 40 000 houses.
Climatic architecture with use of bio-geo based materials, participatory building sites with local community (inhabitants, high school students in building trades training, students... ), and experts (architects, engineers, building company).

Together with Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy & Sustainable Economic Development and within National Campaign “Italia in classe A” promoted by the Ministry of the Environment to respond to the national decarbonization challenges of European Green Deal we developed a 80 h course for 17y old girls, to introduce them to the role of engineers for the energy transition in the future paradigm of a sustainable and circular economy. The project responds to SDGs 4 5 7 13

The peat lands in Northern Europe are in extinction and with that the healing power of the black gold. We pass on the natural heritage of our wellbeing and soul, through the development of peat related products, such as our Moorlander (peat) soap. The project aims to develop a physical workshop and education place to restore the feeling of belonging that build on tradition and craftsmanship on natural soap making and other natural health products with peat, such as Moorbad.

The Pollicino Family is probably just one of many who responded positively to the various calls of the medieval era, to define the European borders, and thus build a common identity . Probably from the city of Troyes, in the North of France began a compelling story.
The project aims to reconstruct all the various stages, of the crusades, of the events in the cities to create a historical, epic story, useful for the cohesion of the European peoples today.

It's a place where, for hundreds of years, difficult history has shaped a subtle heritage, now forgotten by the world and time. This is where we create our Station - a place of interpersonal and intergenerational exchange, where you'll be able to squat in order to develop global culture and education on the local ground. It should be a driving force for building a sense of belonging to a small "SLOW" community, but with global values of tolerance for otherness and mitigation of climate change.

Environment Europe Foundation, created by Dr Stanislav Edward Shmelev has produced an initiative that is submitted for the New European Bauhaus Prize. Since 2012, an executive training programme has been set up to educate future leaders in various aspects of sustainable development. As a result, Environment Europe organised 18 executive schools in Ecological Economics, focusing on Ecosystems, Green Economy, Sustainable Cities, ESG Investment, educating participants from 60 countries.
