NEB Prizes 2022: All Applications

RibeiroLandArt pursues the value of the forest, wine-growing and Baths heritage at the Denomination of Origin Ribeiro, presenting these wilderness areas as perfect spaces to art creation, education and health activities. RibeiroLandArt has been created by the artist Rebeca Ponte descendent of migrants grandparents Who moved to the city after the war. The summers of childhood in O Ribeiro marked her art. This project honours this heritage providing similar  trasversal experiences to others

This project is an exercise in reflection on what builds a home. On which are the essential elements on the definition of domesticity. On how to give a flexible enough response to an undefined user. On what contribution does the intimate home space to the outdoor shared street. All this within the conditional framework of a public promotion in compliance with current regulations. FirstLife and CommonsHood are two twin online platforms for fostering civic participation and sustaining the local urban economy. They empower citizens to co-create, co-produce, co-manage public services, and to coordinate urban commoning initiatives. FirstLife is a local civic social network based on an interactive map. CommonsHood is a blockchain-based wallet app promoting an Internet of Values 2.0 vision. Together they pursue the connected values of sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion.

Jäbät & Tunteet is a community and a mixed-media platform (i.e. seasonal podcasts, social media articles and art). Normalising vulnerability and showing emotions in masculinities.

Il progetto Lalàgeatelier - Dispositivi Vestimentari nasce ad Oglianico nel 2017. 
Fondato dall'artista Sara Conforti all'interno della comunità terapeutica Fragole Celesti - Doppia diagnosi femminile per il trattamento di abusi, violenze e maltrattamenti di Fermata d'Autobus Onlus. Iniziativa promossa da Tessile e Salute. Formazione professionale e produzione in upcycling che intrecceranno pratica artistica e moda circolare.

The New Hand Lab (NHL), located in the city of Covilhã - Portugal, is a hive of creators who transform the history of wool into original and contemporary ideas. The NHL is based in a former Wool Factory, a historic building considered and protected as a National Monument. As a collaborative project, the NHL promotes and disseminates the endogenous resources of the region through creative, sustainable and innovative ideas, converted into art works and cultural initiatives.

In the Živel Zlín project, we focus on raising awareness of sustainability in the Zlín Region. We draw from folk traditions and bring people closer to the environmental and social aspects of a sustainable society. We emphasize intergenerational sharing, pulling people out of their social bubbles and mediating environmental awareness gently through culture and community encounters.

Public markets are vital elements of cities, they are multifunctional public spaces that not only provide access to fresh produce, but also strengthen local economies, social cohesion and contribute to community building. Regeneration of declining markets requires a holistic approach that includes planning, design, management and community participation. This project served as a pilot for the strategy of regeneration of urban markets in Poland which is currently being drafted.

Tierras en danza arises as a contemporary dance project for rural areas with two main strands. An Intensive Dance Course for professionals which brings people all over the world to improve their skills, learn about sports science and get in touch with nature and citizens of the surroundings. Moreover, a Festival where dance is offered in open exhibitions and workshops in several villages. An opportunity of expressing through the physicality that contibutes to enhace the voice of the villages.

Machao is a warm, modern colourful and eco-conscious craftsmanship that gives full meaning to the term upcycling.

Machao not only offers unique creations at a fair price, it also supports a more responsible decoration by offering collective and individual workshop sessions.

A circular story... Machao is the Berber equivalent of both “Once upon a time” and “… “and they lived happily ever after”, perpetuating the idea that the end of each tale is always the beginning of a new story.
