When I talk about expanded illustration, I am referring to something which moves out on both a formal and a conceptual level, giving a storytelling that supports social inclusion through muralism in the urban context. Although I also develop my work in institutions traditionally dedicated to art, at the neighborhood level, where many people of different cultures live together, the practice of mural art can build a sustainable community with a sense of ownership of the space.
We want to provide customers with a plant-based alternative to bacon that does not compromise on experience. Therefore, we developed a plant-based product that covers all sensory aspects of eating and cooking with ordinary bacon. We use a variety of hydrogels and combine them via multi-material printing in a pattern resembling bacon’s structure and texture. The final product curls and shrinks during frying as bacon would, moreover it provides a great flavour and mouthfeel.

By creating a shared vision for an inclusive, sustainable, carbon free and ultimately green future we align community and government action in a way that maximizes their potential. Combined with a 'total' approach to the transition where Energy, Mobility, Economy, Ecology and People are considered holistically this creates a powerful pathway for the green transition that is inspiring real change
Without memory, there can be no civilisation, no society and no future. This memorial was established thanks to the inhabitants of the Skoki Municipality and speaks to all of us with its presence in the Jewish cemetery, with its symbolism of the star and stones, and with the moving words engraved on it. It tells us about the chain of generations, about the human community and about human dignity. It reminds us that caring for graves establishes a bond between the living and the dead.
IF: Social Design for Sustainable Cities aimed to highlight and strengthen the involvement of culture and social design in the societal debate on sustainable cities. The project provided a platform for creative minds using arts as a tool for sustainable urban innovation, connecting them with practitioners, decision-makers, activists, scholars and students. Activities consisted of a conference with interactive panels, workshops for international design students and an exhibition by young artists.
With recent changes in the Latvian building code, allowing built from wood up to 18meters, this project would create a new and qualitative landmark in the west entrance part of Valmiera.
Arriving in the city, one will experience six to four-story detached buildings with respect to the existing five-story perimeter block housing, forming together a housing complex totally made of timber, a physical marking of Valmiera, a new and attractive environmentally friendly area to live in.
ConCom tests innovative education formats focusing on cultural heritage, digital technology, and their societal impact. In 2020/21 it served as a platform for students to explore architecture of Modern Movement by using multiple digital tools for communicating the potential of existing buildings and sites to shape a sustainable, inclusive and aesthetic environment. MoMove was developed in cooperation with Docomomo Int. for open, accessible and reusable knowledge exchange.
The Rotating House is a single-family housing project built on the outskirts of the city of Coimbra. The owner of the House is an engineer of special structures with a broad knowledge in mechanics and motorization. Sensitive to energy issues, the client decided to develop an experimental project in which the whole house revolves around the sun.
The project was born with a view to digital innovation and the sensitivity of a new renaissance: the school diary will no longer be personal but become the diary of the team, the meeting place for the whole class, work and leisure, where children will share useful information for academic achievement, models to imitate, moments to remember for the benefit of all. The digital tool aims at creating complicity between children so that the excellence of each one acts as a driving force for all.
