The Cours des Arts is an intergenerational residence of 119 dwellings, based on a mix and variety of housing types, with a large park in the middle. No distinctions between the tenants and owners is made, as they gather around the shared areas and take part in the resident’s association. The Cours des Arts explores various ways to mix private and shared areas, with its innovative “shared room” and breaks down the barriers around artistic practices thanks to the artists’ studios.

The dock has been transformed from being a disused place to become the Mediterranean District of Innovation and Creativity, where knowledge economy and space co-design merge. The result is an inspiring scenario favouring happiness, collaboration and the development of ideas. Here, three different environments flow together: work (entrepreneurial and training hub), nautical activities (sports and industry) and citizen enjoyment (gastronomy, culture and healthy leisure).

Digital Wood Artisan has disseminated good practices at the European level through the training of trainers that can provide innovative skills, about the wood sector, to disadvantaged learners with innovative, effective, and consolidated methodologies.
All participants have been part of a know-how transfer, the result of research work on ancient woodworking techniques, rethink in a digital key, and best practices of inclusion in Europe.

The lack of provision of recreational and cultural services for children and families due to the pandemic, together with citizens’ desire to meet again in safety by re-inhabiting the usual places of socialization, has been identified as one of the most compelling challenges to be faced by the city of Bologna. Having regard to these needs, the Foundation launched a call for proposals to promote and support the implementation of cultural initiatives throughout the overall metropolitan area.

The Solar wave is a solar cell park and landscape room in the forest located on the Campus area Piteå Science park. Designed with parametric design and the nordic nature as inspiration, 117 double-sided solar panels on wooden stands created a landscape room for research, meetings and recreation. The double-sided wave form of panels is a research project of solar energy production from the reflection of snow, wooden durability in cold climate and social interactions in this spatial formation.

FOUNDATION FRISON HORTA

Foundation Frison Horta is an Active Cultural Bridge Between East & West Restoring, Preserving and Sustaining Rich Art & Craft of the By-Gone Era, in an Artistic Art-de-Vivre form. “Excellence in Craftsmanship and Métiers d’Art”. The Foundation Aims to Foster Greater Understanding and Appreciation of the Rich Heritage & Cultural Traditions of the East particularly of Indian Sub-continent In Europe and vice versa.

“What is achievable to improve Munich’s public space?” - with this idea we started the “Referat für Stadtverbesserung*” (Department for urban enhancement). We are oriented to municipal works, turning already existing concepts and decisions into reality. Architectural interventions and simulations are aimed at creating disruptive moments, which question the dominance of traffic and introduce other uses to create democratic spaces, making the city socially and ecologically resilient.

Two schoolyards have been creatively transformed to become more equal and inclusive. A design that focuses on form, color and imagination encourage children to be more physically active. This is a new way of looking at physical activity as an important part of the urban environment and a tool for building a socially sustainable city. The design challenges current norms about what schoolyards and other places for physical activity and socializing can look like and how they can be used.

This podcast is an open space for people to discuss their relationships with the city and hear other people's view on it. I want people from all over the world to realise that typical citizens, surrounding them, are interesting people, whose stories deserve being heard.

GarageLab is a project aimed at the most vulnerable groups within the education system. The main objective of the program is to increase the opportunities for young people at risk of social exclusion to enhance their skills and increase their motivation to learn. To this end, the selected centers are offered the transformation of a classroom into this, they are equipped with digital manufacturing material and teachers and students are trained in digital technologies and educational methodologies
