Main aim of the musical and cultural Atelier A journey on eight strings: XIX century compositions for two violins is to contributing to a better knowledge and dissemination of classical music of the Nineteen century and beyond, and in particular of the vast repertoire of compositions dedicated to the violin duo by authors such as Bela Bartòk, Paul Hindemtih, Luciano Berio, Sergej Prokofiev, Darius Milhaud and many others. A corpus of works still largely unknown outside the restricted circle of professionals and amateurs of contemporary classical music, but which contains numerous compositions of great musical value. The atelier, of the duration of three days, addresses the theme through a series of cultural and musical conferences which, led by the violinists Erica Scherl and Claudia Cancellotti, members of Les Violons d'Ingres, will be addressed at both music scholars, students and professionals, and to a wider audience of lovers of music, arts and culture. Each presentation will focus on a specific aspect of the general theme: starting from a vast overview on modern and contemporary repertoires for two violins, in the form of a concert-conference, the Atelier will continue with a recital of Les Violons d'Ingres dedicated to their recording project of XIX century composers Acanthus, ending with a final conference-concert that, through an analysis of the life and work of the Italian composer Giacinto Scelsi, focuses on the relations of Western classical music with other art forms and with the musical and cultural traditions of others places and peoples, and, in particular, of an Orient both imagined and real.

The Foundation Aims to foster greater understanding and Appreciation of Rich Heritage, Métiers d’Art and Cultural Traditions of East particularly of India in Europe and vice versa, due to which a wider audience is getting aware of restoration and preservation- the revival of Art Nouveau in its full-form and about how important it is to save the handful of buildings left of Horta, witnessing the Belle époque and rich métiers des arts and craftsmanship of a by gone Era. It is most crucial to preserve them as these are rare Architectural Jewels.

Conference-Concert Pocket-size innovations: the violin duo in twentieth century music –
Thanks to the peculiar timbre, during the twentieth century the violin duo represented a fertile ground for composers for experimenting with new, audacious sonic possibilities by combining stylistic and harmonic innovations within a clear and compelling dialogic form. During this concert-conference Les Violons d’Ingres will present some of technical and stylistic innovations found in contemporary compositions for violin duo, relating them to the wider musical, cultural and historical-artistic context of their creation. Particular attention will be given to the Italian scene, with the live performance of some duets chosen from Berio's opera, and to the interesting contaminations between the classical western tradition and popular music found in authors such as Bela Bartòk and Gyorgy Ligeti.

we do various workshops, lectures visits concerts performing arts valorising the heritage and bringing the local Community together in various Innovative engaging activities.
