The Belgian Summer School of Architecture is an international school based in Bruges that train the next generation of architects and planners in the art of building beautiful, humane and sustainable architecture. PER ASPERA AD ASTRA: Reversible Monument of the Future in Mostar
SEPAS service learning project is aimed at raising awareness of the problem of summer energy poverty in southern European countries and reducing heat exposure of the vulnerable population. In the first year of the project, 60 architecture students from the Technical University of Madrid carried out more than 40 workshops. 300 households have participated in these activities on heat and energy culture, energy bills optimization, and outdoor interventions to create climate shelters.
Interested in seeing how a coral reef might look in textile ? Young children involved in the Child Ambassador project have been working with textile artists to create corals from lace and other fabrics. By discovering corals and building their own, children have been connecting with nature through their own imaginations, and learned the consequences of human actions in the ocean. By combining creativity and collective work it encourages them to feel they can play a role in environment state.
Process of reappropriation and transformation of the public space carried out with the children of the Ulenspiegel school in St-Gilles, in the form of workshops in situ, animations and participative building sites, with the main objectives of bringing more safety, nature and playfulness to the surroundings of their school, generating a strong feeling of belonging to their neighbourhood, of ownership and pride among the children.
How do you turn students in upper secondary education into entrepreneurs in the fight against plastic pollution?
2 years of active STEM based entrepreneurial curriculum building in the field a plastic pollution of the oceans with 4 very diverse upper secondary schools could be the answer. Partners from Denmark, Greece, French Polynesia, and Spain have teamed up via Erasmus+ to create motivating and innovative teaching materials on this very complex topic, and our European students bloom.
Today, many education systems foster the development and training of various skills like citizenship, critical thinking, problem solving and social skills. Many policy makers, scientists and teachers however disagree about how to develop and practise these skills. Cross-curricular teaching, in which lesson contents are often intertwined, is one of the ways to do so. Tracknteach wants to facilitate this search by providing proper analysis and insight in the structure of teaching activities.
SuperSibs are support groups for minors aged between 5 to 11 years of age who have siblings with disability. Through interactive games that are facilitated by experienced social workers within the disability sector siblings of persons with disability have the possibility to connect with others who are going through their same experience, share their difficulties, share their grief of not having their parents' full attention, but most important to build a sense of belonging and not excluded.
MLO was an international action-research project that aimed at promoting the practice of outdoor education through a play-based and physical activity approach in preschools. The motivation behind the project was to design a set of practical tools that could be useful to change this paradigm so that children in pre-schools use the outdoors as a place where they can learn and develop through outdoor play, autonomy, independent movement, contact with nature and their communities.
Sharing Lives offers opportunities where volunteers and persons with disabilities, from 18yrs and over, especially those who have little or no support, to
share experiences, create social interactions and befriend persons with disabilities. The service's befriending aspect will help initiate dialogue and collaboration between persons with disability and mainstream society.
