NEB Prizes 2023: All Applications

NADZIEJA is a project of a spatial structure for people in refugee crisis, which supports the process of their integration in a new environment. It has been enriched with an additional function connecting with the local community, facilitating functioning in an unknown place and giving the opportunity to take up a job. The design concept is based on research in the field of homelessness, and the pro-ecological aspect and speed of construction in construction were important issues in the project.

A concept building, where the view of the historical heritage of Rome and sustainable innovation meet. This innovative design finds its roots in the need to allow people of all backgrounds to expand their knowledge horizons in an immersive experience. Through the symbiosis of nature and culture, embedded in the green design of the structure and the facilities provided, we aim to inspire current and future generations to actively pursue green initiatives and leave a positive mark on society.

After years of malfunction, the Vogršček water reservoir has finally been repaired. This proposal imagines a future where any natural landscape in proximity to water that has been neglected or abandoned can be recovered and re-naturalized in a similar manner. The main focus is put on re-establishing the ecosystems and developing a more sustainable and efficient relationship between people and the landscape while fulfilling the needs for further development.

Why are crucial infrastructural buildings treated as degraded areas that need to be eradicated from urban areas and transferred outside of cities where they destroy vast rural landscapes? Because a city cannot live without this areas, our project treats them as organs in the human body. We are capable of regenerating them and give them a second life where they keep the city running and also become an integrated part of the communitys fabric.

The Green Room is a unique and innovative space designed to enhance urban environments and promote mental health and well-being. This sustainable and inclusive space is a harmonious fusion of nature, technology and design, offering citizens a place to relax, recharge, and connect with each other. Whether you are looking for a peaceful haven in the city, an outdoor workout, or a place to meditate, the Green Room offers a low-cost solution for improving mental health and well-being for everyone.

Ceramo Civic Centre is a co-designed project for the transformation of an old majolica factory in the Valencian suburb as trigger for the physical and social regeneration of the area. Giving a new life to the building, making it a public space in which protagonism of local associations and enhancement of sense of belonging are merged, becomes a way to unite sociality, education, rediscovery of local cultural heritage and architecture in an inclusive and sustainable perspective.

Our mission is to use the power of music to inspire people and push for change. Music has the power to unite and our vision is to mobilise people with the help of music to accomplish system change. We invite young artists and activists from around Europe and provide them with a platform and the inspiration to create original music to inspire action. We will meet in Stockholm for a week of co-creation where activists and artists meet and inspire each other during Inner Development Goals summit.

La Traverse is a cooperative, multi-generational, anti-speculative and experimental living space that promotes harmony with its natural and human environment. La Traverse promotes the values of solidarity, tolerance, openness and sharing.

The Vivifica project, which means "bringing back to life", proposes to capitalize on the singular geography and the rich history of the site. Through four themes, we develop the subject of the living city: the Living City as an inhabited city , the Living City in the biological sense of 'living' and nature, the Living city as a place of effervescence of living together, the Living city, the city cycle.
By stitching the urban fabric, the project restores an overall coherence to the district.

This Home should not be a Hotel is an informative and activist experience that aims to raise awareness of the effects Airbnb has on cities. People who gravitate around Airbnb, such as tourists, citizens, and hosts, are the main users. The experience is guided by situated storytelling that presents data from Inside Airbnb, a platform that collects all Airbnb data. It's also an open-source tool that helps activism groups in sharing Airbnb data in an engaging way.
