NEB Prizes 2022: All Applications

Thanks to the project "Let's meet in the courtyard", 8 courtyards in the post-industrial, degraded district of Krakow have undergone a comprehensive revitalization and turned into a space full of flowers, new elements of small architecture and playgrounds, conducive to strengthening neighborly ties. Residents participated in every stage of the project - from the moment of examining their needs, through consulting the concept of landscaping, to organizing neighborhood picnics and joint planting.

The Youth Leaders for Sustainability was a creative 12-months project bringing together 200 young active citizens across the EU to share learning and build networks, through cascaded training on specific methodology which culminated to climate action-led initiatives. Through challenge funds for young people we supported 29 environmental and social action projects proposed and implemented by youth in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Ireland/Northern Ireland and Poland. 

The co-Living Room Community is an innovative, interdisciplinary and participatory project implemented during the Covid-19 quarantine. The project challenged the way we comprehend social inclusion, collective design and social integration via contemporary art methods and cultural exchange.The VSP team, artists, designers, local professionals of refugee or migrant background developed a hybrid creative community engagement methodology through an inclusive and accessible digital space for all.

Marabunta Acción Social is a multilateral Platform to democratize donation regardless of the amount to be donated. The companies on the one hand and NGOs on the other are associated with the platform, one as an active part to donate together with their employees and the other as a provider of social projects receiving these donations. We connect them and grow the social ecosystem. This social marketplace is being developed in Spain, but being a completely scalable and exportable model for Europe

On the edge of the forest, the Waldraum is an experiential space for social encounters: a bright room for art-making and meetings between human and non-humans, produced circularily and intertwined with its natural surrounds. Through its materiality and gray energy, it is in dialogue with the seasons and the surrounding trees. The hybrid building consists of a raw wooden shell, which is sourced partly from the property, and a recycled industrial greenhouse.

a project with European countries about ethnic minorities, refugees and women, to celebrate their differences instead of stigmatizing them and to initiate a peaceful communication and accpetance within the communities of each country. It was a universal message of love, humanity and solidarity

The Green Shades system is the first awning system that allows vegetation to grow by projecting seeds on its surface. It´s a lightweight structure of tensioned PVC sails that is installed on the façades, providing shade to the street.  The project incorporates a beam that runs along the street, in which a pipe is integrated for water supply, water collection and lighting. The main benefit of this project is that it helps to alleviate the heat island effect of city centres.

The present operation aimed to create new community spaces and experiences in the abandoned Mondego’s riverfront. This landscape requalification will:

• approach people with nature;
• regenerate natural ecosystems;
• prevent the loss of biodiversity;
• respect soil and water cycles;
• exalt nature with sustainable solutions and materials;
• encourage social inclusion and quality of life to the community;
• reinforce tradition and the historical relationship with outstanding elements- the River.

Open House Valencia is a festival of architecture and urbanism whose mission is to bring architecture closer to citizens, highlighting the importance of heritage and cultural identity. Once a year, we open the doors of the best architecture in the city, offering free guided tours, urban routes, competitions, concerts, talks and other activities to spread Valencian architecture and generate sense of belonging. Ultimately, we are building a benchmark community around architecture, art and design.

POP-UP is a soft 2-wheel cabin trolley, Made in Italy with recycled materials, light, unbreakable and easy to maintain, customizable thanks to the color options of some components.

POP-UP saves up to 50% space when stored after use. It is made up of over 60% E.V.A. recycled rubber and its linings are made of 100% recycled PES from plastic bottles or production surplus. It can be easily maintained by detaching the linings for washing and easily replacing the wheels in case of damage.
