a project with European countries about ethnic minorities, refugees and women, to celebrate their differences instead of stigmatizing them and to initiate a peaceful communication and accpetance within the communities of each country. It was a universal message of love, humanity and solidarity

Description of the project

Summary

this project aims to raise awareness and empower pupils to be better citizens and more open-minded adults later in life. Bias and prejudice against ethnic minorities, women, refugees and immigrants is a real-life problem. Pupils all along this project will grow a sense of civic reponsibilty and willingness to make a difference. The name of the project evokes the mirror in fairy tales which tells the truth and reflects reality of people. Our mirror will be a reflection of different ethnicities to celebrate them instead of stigmatizing them  December: to introduce partners, teachers and pupils alike .With emphasis on their countries ( different ethnicities).Raising awareness of e-safety should be of utmost importance. Parents petitions are collected.
January: to introduce families of pupils if they want to, to share their differences, Christmas is an opportunities to share love, tolerance and peace
At the same time organize pupils in mixed-nationalities teams .
February + March : a role-play activity in which teams choose one of different roles:
+ the politician: conducting votes and reports at home and school
+the historian: searching for cases of ethnic conflicts
+the novelist: searching for success stories of women, colored people and refugees throughout history
+the reporter: conducting interviews with real immigrants
+the artist: creating a collage of different ethnic music, tastes, mythology and cuisine.
April: dissemination of work in workshops online exhibitions e-magazine RESULTS:  a common public twinspace of different ethnicities
-a virtual gallery of people of ethnic minorities and immigrants who made it to the top
- audio recordings of different interviews with immigrants
-an e-magazine which celebrates ethnic differences

teach youngsters how to coexist in a peaceful environment and how to be open-minded and respectful to differences, no matter what language, colour, religions, or beliefs you embrace

partners from diferent countries have learned and produced many creative products all along the project which enhance and strengthen the topic of unity and harmonious living in nations

the project raises awareness of the impact of benevolence in creating more sustainable communities and the hazardous effects of violence, chauvinism, terrorism and racism in breaking apart communities and causing destruction at all levels

all along the project a militant  African -American writer was invited   online to inspire students from different countires and share his poerty with them

Results in relation to category

the results of the prject were: a common twinspace of different ethnicities, a tape recorder of interview with immigrants to raise awareness about their plight and impact compassion and empathy towards them, creating ebook in which we celebrated ethnic groups cuisine, traditions, culture, history and folklore

partners from different countries broadcast the content and the common products of the project to a wider audience such as on the  radio, parents meetings, , neighborhood, local committies to encourage students work and make them feel appreciated and to raise awarness of the importnace of intercultural openness to build a better community
