There are no homogenous material assemblies in nature. Wood is such an intricate natural material that is rich in inherent features starting on the microscopic level. It is essential to analyse and understand the material's capabilities in all the scales to uncover brand new material behaviours and design possibilities. We enter an age of digital fabrication with compound wood materials allowing for reliable properties and milling technology enabling complete manipulation of solid wood. 

Cal Guerxo is a an ambitious renovation project aiming to bring a medieval residence to life by converting it into an inspiration for beautiful, sustainable and inclusive design. A home that functions as elegantly and efficiently as a flower, informed by the characteristics of its bio-region. Capturing all of its water and energy from the sky while operating efficiently for maximum beauty. An inspiring call for action to restore our relationship with nature.

The renovation of Cal Guerxo dramatically raises the bar from a paradigm of doing less harm to one in which we view our role as a steward and co-creator of a true sustainable future based on a spirit of circularity. Nature works in cycles and when we incorporate these cycles in our homes we re-connect deeply with nature. At Cal Guerxo we aim to show how we can close the vital cycles of energy, water, waste, food and materials in the places we live.

Prototipoak is a bienniale programme that desires to explore the performativity of the social through art, and to critically contribute to shape it from a sustainability, aesthetic and inclusion perspective. It brings together artists with sole outlooks and varied backgrounds, who propose new experiences rooted in the specificity of site and context.Through their uses of contemporary artistic forms, they each question different sides of reality and try to open up opportunities for transformation

The last three typical traditional houses have been preserved in the solved locality in the Myjava region. Our goal is to preserve one of them using ecological and recycled materials. The capacity needs of a growing family are not met, which results in an increase in usable area due to expansion and changes in the operation of the house. The extension does not want to compete with the existing house, but to be in line with it.

These interactive installations – part creature, part environment, part mechanical, part biological – remind us that the point of reference for architecture has shifted from human to non-human. This project’s future direction is defined by synthetic metabolic design and analysis on how adaptive and scenic morphologies are part of the next-generation architecture, addressing the role of semi-living design as a mediator between artists and audience.

The designbuildLAB of the LabEx AE&CC at the National Architecture School in Grenoble is an experiential learning program focused on the research, development and implementation of ecologically, socially and culturally sustainable architecture. It begins and ends with the premise that the complex challenges of our time will only be solved collaboratively: architects, engineers, educators, students, communities, builders, economists, political leaders all working toward a shared objective.

Project Ender is a platform for interactive adaptive learning, aiming at gamifing the educational sector reinvigorating the sector, and giving students and educators a new way of transferring knowledge.
Which will give opportunities to each member of the platform to engage and a more decentralized way of learning and a way of implementing bottom-up structures in e-learning.
