Deadwood is an important element of forest ecosystems. However, deadwood management is a relatively new concept, most often not understood in practice. The aim of the project is to contribute to sustainable development of the cross-border Romania and Ukraine region via research supporting forest productivity, natural regeneration, biodiversity conservation, increasing resilience to climate change and improving the provision of ecosystem services to local communities and the public at large.

Rock stage in the Swedish town of Tibro is a public stage made out of giant faux marble blocks. It is now a natural gathering point for performances and festivals in the town’s main park.

Experimenting with decorative painting, Anders Berensson Architects, the municipality and local students at Tibro Craft Academy investigated new ways for participative design-processes.

It is the first permanent structure from “Tibro Train Tracks”, an ArkDes Think Tank financed research project.

This project consists of the renovation of an 18-story administrative building, located in the historic center and built in the 1960s, in order to make it carbon neutral and perfectly accessible to PRMs. The project allowed a reappropriation of the place by the citizen, a reorganization of connections with the surrounding neighborhood and a requalification of the public space.

The project embodies the inspiring transformation of a small town in Jiu Valley (RO), from a mining-based and male-driven economy, to one that is greener and gender-balanced. Driven by enthusiastic change agents, a Masterplan was co-developed with the aim of reinventing the former coal mine as Petrila Cultural Exploitation - a beautiful, sustainable, inclusive central stage, firmly anchored in the residents’ memory and fostering a sense of belonging among artists, entrepreneurs and inhabitants.

The rehabilitation of an abandoned school from 1931 into the new offices for Participation Service and headquarters of Neighborhood Entities is a disruptive project that innovates at the level of construction, installations and use. Strategically located, it reconverts an urban void into a public node, showing the result of applying sustainability, circular design and inclusion criteria, and becoming the first public building in the municipality reaching an Nzeb rating with almost 0 consumption.

Our organization working in Snovsk hromada with war-affected persons (IDP, war-victim, veterans). We developed a community centre. This centre provided services for war-affected persons. Also we plan to do activities for popularization of Green Cours. We have made project to develop our centre. In future this experience can be implemented in other projects for reconstruction.

This innovation project consists of the construction of a 100m2 hydroponic vertical garden on the façade of a 4* hotel in Malaga connected to a greywater regeneration station. The system recovers and treats the wastewater from the rooms and reuses it to irrigate over 2.500 plants. This solution allows to bring greenery into dense urban areas without consuming freshwater.
This project is the kickstart of a movement "Renaturalizar Malaga" to boost the implementation of NBS in the city.

ReGrow Willow is an earth-willow hybrid structure for architectural and construction applications, promoting low emissions construction technologies and circular material cycles enabled by cutting-edge bespoke digital fabrication and computational tools. As a digital reinterpretation of vernacular construction methods, it showcases a novel construction system based on rapidly renewable bio-based material and earth, which can be composted or recycled at the end of the life cycle.

The STARGATE project engaged youngsters, experimenting with the theme of "urban regeneration” and self-build actions in our mountain territories, which are characterized by social and economic fragility (difficult accessibility, lack of services and infrastructure, depopulation) and where, instead, the quality of the environment can also become both a cultural and business value.
STARGATEs are conceived as temporary/mobile structures, made of lightweight materials (including salvaged materials.

This is a large, round table with a diameter of 15m. A table where people meet people. A self-initiated temporary project. During Covid 19, I spent a lot of time alone. Sometimes I didn’t talk to anyone for 2-3 days. I didn’t realise how “important” it is to meet people. We often notice something important and beautiful first when we lose it. Then, I dreamed of getting together without any obligations. I dreamed of a place with the possibility of encounters. A place for everyone.
