slo.li.brussels will be the heart - and the representative place - of slow lifestyle & consumption of the city where it will set up. (First version : in the capital of Europe). The space will be design and furnished as a home. You will be able to buy all what you see. In each room you will fin the products (eg : cosmetics), the services (haidresser, beautician, ..) and the events (how to create your own natural cosmetic) in order to help you toward your slow lifestyle journey

Can we build our cities of the future only with wood and earth? We believe we can and we are not alone. While the global climate suffers under the effects of conventional concrete and steel construction (cement production alone accounts for 8% of CO2 emissions) we are developing a minimalist construction system composed solely of timber and earth that, utilizing the most recent advances in automation and material science, promises to be not only ecological but performative and mass-producible.

Inspired by Light that passes through the dilapidated roof. light spots are projected onto the old brick walls. Over time, the light beams and spots move together through space, interweaving each other.

Two new roofs, one radical and one modest are simultaneously inserted at different scales into the continuous and homogeneous barn space, creating different spatial environments, by adding "extra" to the ordinary space, we create an extraordinary working experience for the studio.

In the newly designed utopia "Nature lead ESDP (European Spatial Development Perspective)" the currently existentially endangered resource water becomes the spatially defining element of the European continent, the river basins are highlighted as new territorial planning units for protection against floods and improvement of water quality.

IMAGO is a fun and light-hearted game that invites adolescents to discuss dominant cultural beliefs about appearance and discover that there are more differences between people’s personal motivations and aspirations than they may know.

The project rethinks part of the southern fringe of Milan, a polluted industrial area between the city and the countryside. We promote a strategy for a resilient landscape connecting productive activities with nature and social functions through circular and nature-based actions toward a more livable environment.

Hence, great attention was given to the natural capital, boosting biodiversity by integrating former industrial artefacts with ecological corridors between local habitats.

School students from mountain and urban areas will be involved in a mutual exchange of visions, with the aim of understanding, valorizing and learning to take care of them. This will be done through their joint participation in a 5-days workshop, where they will explore the needs of the territory, ideate and build in the public space a wooden installation that will be enjoyable from local inhabitants and visitors and testify of the enriching exchange that a common process can bring.

The Future Laboratory re-negotiates the contemporary relevance of water as a common resource in order to re-gain a sense of belonging to the industrialized coastline if the Meditteranean Sea. 

We apply digital tools for designers and communities to co-create with trees! Tools in scanning trees, simulating growth and mapping their structure allow for an open design process. Making these smooth and accessible puts decisions in the hands of communities and provides communication channels between designers, users, and experts. Our students applied such tools to design a growing Pavilion in Germany in 2021. We will expand this to wider communities in urban European contexts.

Can we choose to live in sustainable cities if we have not experienced one? In 2019 we started mapping out EFdeN Sustainable City, a living lab that would showcase examples of sustainable urban developments that we hope to see in our cities and that would provide a multidisciplinary space that would  guide people and make them aware of the environment they live in. Here we aim to feature 8 areas dedicated to the main urban challenges with solutions designed and built by students and community.
