Design of low-tech houses as a response to the needs of large groups of people in crisis situations (on the example of refugees in Ukraine), located in the vicinity of the Kampinos National Park and Warsaw. Project raises issues related to construction technologies that respect the limited resources of our planet.
According McKinsey and Eastman, only 1% of all plastics get recycled. The growth of food delivery during the pandemic has contributed significantly to this problem. We want to help restaurants transition to a more sustainable, reusable system. Currently, there are no systems that make it easy for (larger) food chains to integrate reusable packaging within delivery services, cash registers, or their operational flow.

As architecture is shifting its focus from construction to regeneration, we architects should rethink our role: from designer of spaces to interpreter of processes. If architecture has instruments to produce complex spaces, why can't it realizes image storytelling of social innovation processes? Is it possible to make processes more understandable, reproducible, inclusive, and to prevent regenerated places from falling back into cycles of abandonment due to a lack of attention to social aspects?
Abaceria Respira was born out of public protest. Barcelona’s government is pursuing a 26M€ redevelopment of the historic Abaceria Market that consists of vast expanses of concrete, a giant supermarket, parking, and just eight trees [1]. Our concept design – created as a counter-proposal – will bring a park with biodiversity, permeable ground, and light to one of the city’s densest, darkest, and least healthy neighborhoods. Over 7000 people have signed a petition in support of Abaceria Respira.
Volkshilfe Hafen is a eco-housing project offering a safe and communal living environment for women, single mothers and their children. The project aims to promote a supportive and lively housing community profiting from a diverse mix of socioeconomical and cultural backgrounds. Especially women at risk of poverty and homelessness but also senior citizens and students can find a home. The community work program provides opportunities for social interaction.
“Empowering Women, Cultivating Change" aims to encourage leadership in the social community while incorporating circular economy principles through making the most of a rooftop garden on a social housing site called La CIBA. We want to focus on empowering and educating women who happen to be staying or needing their resources due to unfavorable situations. The biogarden will be creating room for growth, education, autonomy, and a sense of belonging.
Houses of Culture existed in the former GDR in small towns and were places to connect people, to bring culture in the countryside and, in a broader sense, to educate the "socialist" person. The aim of the project is to remember and analyse the former Culture Houses and to re-activate community spaces in rural areas. I am approaching the topic with the help of oral history, archival work and various participatory processes.

Mobile and transformable spaces as a solution for educational crises and emergencies.
The human population is set to grow to 10 billion by 2050. This puts a lot of pressure on food production and land use, while every day significant amounts of food are wasted. Introducing insects into the food chain, (decomposers by nature) that thrive on using nutrients from food production waste, provides a sustainable and circular, alternative and natural protein for poultry, pigs, aquaculture and pets. Locally produced it also increases food security while reducing land use.
