The Ecomuseum of Boys and Girls is an educational project for public schools in the eastern suburbs of Rome, which aims to strengthen students' sense of belonging to their community through knowledge and protection of the cultural and environmental heritage and the co-transformation of its territory in an Urban Ecomuseum.
How is our relationship with educational spaces? Do we learn from these spaces? Would our learning and formation improve if we had better buildings? How? In what ways? In the Escuela en Arquitectura Educativa (EAE), we are interested in demonstrating that architectural spaces are able to educate. Our project aims to achieve educational spaces which are Welcoming (smart, sustainable, supportive and safe. The four “S”), Versatile, Theatrical and Positive. Come along and join us!
The design of a modular settlement in Lviv for a Ukrainian community displaced by the war was developed at three scales: macro, mezzo and micro. The urban-architectural concept was created by academic architects and developed in design classes in the European Bauhaus spirit. Students were involved in a collaborative process with a modular building factory. The project resulted from a grant awarded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Community New European Bauhaus.

Working with local communities and schools, we create interdisciplinary e-learning curriculum that engage pupils (9-16 years) in exploring water-related challenges and local solutions in a contextualized and meaningful way. Using interactive EduTech and active pedagogy, our e-curriculum enable pupils to learn at their own pace in various educational settings, making it accessible to all.
The landscape I found has been under human transformation for a long time. Former wetlands were successively transformed into a highly engineered landscape and one of the most productive agricultural regions within Brandenburg. One day, King Friedrich II. proclaimed in front of a recently enlisted crowd of farmers from all over Europe: “I’ve gained new lands!” To reclaim the land, the swamp was drained of its water and its mystic.
Citywilding (Miastozdziczenie) is a multi-threaded initiative based in Warsaw that encourages the reconnection with nature. The project focuses on the urban environment as the most crucial potential place for defining new human-nonhuman relationships and practicing sustainable development. It addresses global challenges by proposing a positive and inclusive path, participating in diverse interspecies communities, and changing aesthetic, managerial, legal, urbanistic or architectural paradigms.
School should be a place where everyone flourishes in the environment which fosters diversity, equity and inclusion. Primary school students are at the most vulnerable age when their attitudes, values and self-esteem develop. For these two reasons Ivo Andric Primary School has developed the initiative to improve the inclusion and equity via: high-quality and inclusive education; professional development for teachers; digital transition, and teacher-student-parent cooperation.
Through a series of site-specific, experiential workshops, art and architecture students from different national/cultural backgrounds collaborate on the production of short movies that creatively interpret the quotidian life in historic urban landscapes as a dynamic field of cross-cultural intersections in time and space. Their space-driven narratives contemplate aspects of social awareness and inclusion, promote cultural dialogue and explore the prospect of belonging as meaningful dwelling.
