MadreProject is a one-of-a-kind school inviting participants to approach bread as a way to connect local communities, places and practices. The idea is to train future entrepreneurs who can create social impact and maintain a dialogue with the context in which they operate, and, in particular, breadmakers who are aware of the network they are part of and the benefits of an all-round approach.
In order to address the world’s biggest challenges such as climate change, isolation, loneliness, obesity or polarization we believe we need to unlock more power in local communities. We need to use technology more creatively and accelerate the spread of the best ideas along with the knowledge and the financial resources to empower community leaders to tackle issues at the local level. ChangeX is a platform of proven innovations we want to build community wellbeing by unleashing change makers.
We are an initiative that brings together people who are aware that caring for stone is one of the basic needs on the way to preserve the ambiance of the Adriatic coast. The authentic ambience is the largely conditioned by the restoration of the stone and its manual processing for new projects. In order to achieve the goals, among which the overarching goal is to raise awareness of youth, we act publicly trough workshops in our own arrangement in the way that is acceptable and easy to learn.
“Casas e Lugares do Sentir”, created by the Fundão Municipality in a protocol with UNESCO, aim to stimulate, conserve, and preserve the territory and its material and immaterial heritage, in a territory rich in traditions and knowledge, which is urgent to preserve, promote and make known to others. Thus, it aims the safeguarding of traditions and transmission of knowledge, locally based and traditional, bringing generations closer together and empowering more people to live in rural territories.
Ponsia is a licensing service that connects art with architecture. Architects can use the details described in works of art and scale them to suit structural surfaces. The integration technologies required by different building materials enable, for example, the integration of a small detail of a sculpture or video stills into the facade of a building. We created a new earning mechanism for artists and a value base created by art for the building.
The overall goal is to save Schindler’s Ark to form a Museum of Survivors in the heart of Europe. Schindler’s Ark was a concentration camp where 1200 Jews on Schindler’s List were saved, as shown in the film by Stephen Spielberg. The project implements testimony, iWalk and permanent digital and place-based learning in the unique place where the events occurred to reach the 100-200,000 visitors per year. It is co-designed with students from five countries to reach 3 million schoolchildren.
A education project based on the idea of an organ donation campaign. The project reused the graphic campaign and recycled it in a fashion show. Pieces that resurface as something new through detailed handwork. Vinil canvas rebirthed as clothing.
Five different, futuristic shacks in front of a mountain range, designed to spend a night outdoors in nature, just an hour's walk from town. UrbanBivouac tackles the barriers, notably cultural, of young people from working and lower classes to connect with alpine nature. The stunning architecture, sustainable design and strong stakeholder involvement support informal education with strong impact.
This award is supported in a podcast format as a dissemination channel - open to educate the general public - and to reach specialized profiles and researchers, but also citizens and social agent involved in the problems that today concern the city: from the territorial imbalance (Ep. 1) to the problematic of food distribution (Ep. 2), healthy environment through mobility (Pd. 3), economic equilibrium (Pd. 4) or the technologies as part of the intangibles that cities manage to change (Pd. 5).
The project offers an alternative artistic-educational socio-economic hands-on experience, focusing on local food community economies, in Malta, in collaboration with primary school students, a team of organic-regenerative farmers, and a group of creatives. The students and their families are introduced to the Farm to Fork Strategy, so as to collectively create a healthy savoury snack, whereby the students are involved in all the design thinking process and all stages of the supply chain.
