We completed a project called "Green Diplomacy," which was divided into two parts: a panel and a simulation, in response to global warming, the pervasive topic of climate change, and environmental protection. The project is structured around engaging educational material that allowed the students to improve their prior learning in both theory and application.
The project promotes the regeneration of Milan’s suburbs using field-based education with schools, universities and citizens, such as workshops that become the tool to learn how to re-imagine the city in an equitable, inclusive and sustainable way.
How We Eat in Leipzig is an immersive learning experience to engage a local community to imagine an inclusive regenerative food future together. Through nature based learning and eating at the same table over the course of five workshops during one year, the community builds a sense of belonging to Leipzig and to each other through the food they eat, grown in their surrounding environment.
The idea is to develop an app that guides to accessible routes and allows the rental of innovative electric aids, promoting the independence of people with mobility difficulties. The goal is to restore, in a sustainable way, the freedom of movement in art cities hampered by countless architectural barriers. Thanks to the scalability of the project, environmental pollution could be reduced globally. The social impact is given by the collaboration of citizens, institutions, businesses and users.
Alusta research pavilion explores nature-culture relations and offers a place for encounters between humans and non-human animals in urban space. The pavilion functions as a platform for environmental discourse, both on the level of its form and materiality, and the different activities which take place there. It comprises a pollinator friendly meadow and structures made with clay in different forms. Alusta was realized by a multidisciplinary educational group led by Suomi/Koivisto architects.
We are a circular and community based fashion brand to reduce waste.Together with the community and our network of 32 collection points, we reintroduce broken umbrellas, a non recyclable material into the loop - upcycling them into eco-designed clothes that are functional yet beautiful. We believe that with creativity and innovation, trash doesn't exist.
By building houses together, we also build relations, strong communities and individuals. What you create with your hands stays as a physical proof of your skill. For five years, Egnahemsfabriken has strived to learn people how to build houses together. In this example we will present our purpose and goal: to help people, especially the ones with a low income, to build their own home by organized togetherbuilding. Along the way we have seen the strenght of the method for the future.
In a simple and entertaining way we have wanted to transfer to the children the strategy carried out by the European Commission, "From farm to table". An action included in the so-called "Green Deal". The project includes the publication of A story for children between the ages of three and six, activities and educational resources to carry out at school and at home, as a complement to a reading where the illustrations will captivate young and old.
In September 2022, RAW organised an immersive workshop on resilient urban planning. For five days, RAW worked hand in hand with local stakeholders to analyse the vulnerability of the territory in the face of drought, imagine risk mitigation and adaptation solutions, and build a new collective narrative around the access to the water resource. RAW's replicable workshop methodology aims to bring together research, practice, and activism in a process of knowledge co-production.
With the initiative of the National Agency for Employment and Skills (NAES), the Skills Campus aims to be the first environment, not only in Albania, but also in the WB6, dedicated entirely to training. The Campus aims to maximize, in the long term, the potential of skills and innovation as drivers of employability, economic growth, education and vocational training and is foreseen to primarily provide young people with the right skills they need to succeed in the labor market.
