The project responds to the challenge of reducing the food-chain impact of the Frassati Cooperative (Turin-Italy) finding and testing new solutions for 5 night-shelters for the homeless, welcoming 100 people per day.
Studio SHIFT designed a digital solution that helps trace the emissions during the path of food and measure the positive impact of Frassati's food-recovery practice. We prove the design approach can bring innovation to a complex challenge, opening-up solutions to a wider target.

If we are not counted, how do we count? In addition to finally making Italian disability data available and accessible, Disabled Data brought the problem to light. How can laws be made on the subject if we do not even know how big the phenomenon is and who is part of it?

Iron Age Āraiši Lake fortress has connection with Latvian folklore and it has important simbolic value nationally as well as locally It is also cultural monument of national importance. New Visitor centre and exposition of the lake fortress was expected event more than 40 years. Finally valuable artifacts have returned from capital Riga to the place they come from for exposition. They are important part of the local identity and formes routes of Latvian identity.

Cromvliet square in the Laak district used to be characterised by asphalt, fences and limited green. Over recent years, the municipality has joined forces with local residents and a community association in order to turn the square into a nature-based and pleasant location full of activities for everyone to join. This has resulted in Cromvliet Community Park, an attractive and climate-proof park featuring an Urban Water Buffer with varied nature related activities, the new heart of the district.

In Serere is project of investigation, creation and artistic mediation that uses the technique of grafting as a performative practice of care. The objective is to use this technique to generate relational links between community urban gardens in Rome. The creation of conscious symbiosis, based on care, that favor the transition from an anthropocentric city to a more agropolitan one. Propose imaginaries of interspecific collaboration that move towards a citizen-producer-creator-caregiver.

Rotor Deconstruction is a cooperative that organises the reuse of construction materials. It dismantles, processes and trades salvaged building components. By doing so, it promotes and facilitates the adoption of reuse practices within the construction industry — an indispensable leverage to reduce waste production and lower the environmental impacts. It also contributes to preserving the heritage value embedded in building materials and elements, and fosters the creation of local jobs.
