To preserve the natural environment and ensure the effective use of resources while encouraging the participatory involvement of local people a spatial plan for the development of tourism and recreation on the Šentviška plateau, a rural area that is experiencing rapid population aging and is economically behind other regions of Slovenia, was created.
“Facing the Glacier” is the setting up of a relationship-residency programme for professionals that are looking into experiencing a rural context and leave a trace. The project consists of two stages: the renovation of a studio space and the subsequent hosting programme. The house is looking straight at the Laas glacier and does not have gas.
