In Copenhagen (Denmark) where only 3% of all playgrounds are handicap-friendly, “Saga” will be a space where children can play together regardless of their disability and ability. This inclusive playground is designed with medical experts, researchers and users, for the city’s new Neurorehabilitation House, a treatment centre for patients with brain or spinal cord damage. Saga will also be accessible for close relatives of patients and to the local community to share this immersive, stimulating environment inspired by Iceland’s vibrant nature.

Any naturally occurring stains on facades of buildings are usually considered as dirt or subject of removal. What happens when we question what the outside of a building needs to look like and why? And how might this deepen our understanding of what grows on it? Epidermitecture is concerned with stains formed by microorganisms on facades of buildings and explore their ability to restore and regenerate the environment by acknowledging their importance in building industry, society and aesthetics.

How can we design an inclusive space within a city for all living beings?
As a ´non-humancentric´ design approach towards the urban environment, alterations like add-ons of left out spaces in/on/around infrastructures within a city to adapt the environment towards a multispecies society. These add-ons are the first steps of a society and design not yet existing.

A cultural kiosk café that is along with other initiatives transforming an
abandoned soccer field into a park of biodiversity and cultural meeting
point. We provide the extra pepper into the soup of co-creation of a
communal space with music, creativity and an extra portion of good food.

Los quesitos de Anabel is a project that was created, on the one hand, to complete dairy production on the farm and thus supply the province and the rest of the nearby population and, on the other hand, obtain an economic benefit from it.

The goal of this project was the creation of a design guide, focusing on the optimal design of consumer electronics in concern to resource scarcity.

Particularly affected by resource scarcity are critical raw materials, mainly present in electronic consumer goods, which will be increasingly required for "green technologies". This guide serves as a toolbox for considering the linked issues and counteracting them - creating future-proof products and clearing the way for a sustainable future.

Urban Story Boxes are interactive boxes to playfully explore your neighborhood. They offer a deeper understanding of the area's past, present, future, its people, events, and its unique character. Each box contains audio-visual information about your neighborhood such as stories about famous residents, historical events, and exciting facts. Interacting with these boxes will foster your connection to your neighborhood and unlock a fresh view on your everyday urban setting!

The Institute for Grey Energy develops new strategies for resource-saving and social-oriented activation of vacant building as part of the redevelopment in rural areas. The focus is on research, conservation and reuse of "Grey Energy" stored in buildings. Our first project - the Oßmannstedt granary – serves as a laboratory and physical center for our mostly digital activities. Here, a public interface for spatial development is created, where inclusive concepts for vacancies can be disseminated.

Our mission is to provide an aesthetic and sustainable solution for the urban built environment. URBAN TREE is an innovative multifunctional urban space furniture that helps to ease the pressure on the sewage systems, while contributing to greening the city, and at the same time having an inclusive social dimension. The modules are made of "zero cement" concrete using waste streams that would otherwise end up in landfills, resulting in a lower CO2 footprint than conventional concrete.

The work deals with the subject of sensory interactions in urban space. The concept analyses the influence of perceptual experiences on the perception of the quality of space in the city. Particular attention was paid to the role of cognitive processes in creating spatial perceptions and behaviour of inhabitants. The work as a whole aims to emphasise the essence of shaping a sensual urban fabric that promotes social connections, stimulates local activity and builds the identity of the city.
