Project Description

The Trame Paris boutique is ideally located in the heart of the capital, in one of the oldest streets in Paris, in the middle of galleries. The store front, made up of display barns, allows us to have a significant supply of natural light inside. This project perfectly reflects the brand's DNA and allows us to present our first two collections of articles dedicated to the home.

Description of the project

Summary

The Trame project is located in a former jewelry store from the 1980s, whose octagonal structure has been preserved and embellished. The display cases, the safe as well as the viewing area, including precious stones, have been reinvented as a disco room space and a place to live and exchange. The codes of the Artistic Direction of Trame are omnipresent thanks to the touches of bright yellow of the vinyls, the black of the structure and the ceiling light and the touches of beige that we find through the curtains. These curtains, sensual and theatrical outlines, contrast with the straight lines of the architecture and offer the warm atmosphere of a souk, a place of sharing between shop and workshops. Materials created by Sophie Dries complete the history of Trame by offering a Mediterranean journey: plaster including clay from Calabria and sand from Morocco. From the door handle, this texture that you touch invites questions. We find it on the large wall of the safe, in the center of the space, but also on a free-form tripartite table, created for this project, in the middle of the discoroom.

Key objectives for sustainability

This space showcases the work of contemporary creators and artisans from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco but also from Calabria, a region in southern Italy. The architect Sophie Dries was able to revive the architecture of this former jewelry store in the 1980s; by embellishing it with a travel proposal to the origins of the Trame Paris brand. The Mediterranean is represented by the curtains that surround the space, thus plunging us into the atmosphere of a souk. It is also present through materials created by Sophie Dries in plaster including clay from Calabria and sand from Morocco. This project is distinguished by its unique universe and its singularity in the rue du Temple but also by its original aspect because the Trame Paris brand has never had space to its name. This project is part of sustainability because it reinvents an existing space to give it new life.

Key objectives for aesthetics and quality

The primary aesthetic of the Boutique Trame is to immerse the public in a particular universe making them travel to the heart of the Mediteranean, between Italy and Morocco. This is why the walls of the shop are covered with curtains and the ceraluqye sit arranged a little or so reminiscent of the Moroccan souks.

Key objectives for inclusion

This project is inclusive because the pieces presented in the TRAME PARIS store help to reinvigorate local markets. For the pieces made in Morocco, they are made by women and this helps them to develop their independence.

Results in relation to category

This project highlights the different know-how of artisans and creators of the Mediterranean. We can see through this project different techniques and know-how used. Unique textures were also made for this project for the front door, the wall of the safe and a tiepart table. These textures will be reused during the next TRAME exhibition.

How Citizens benefit

This scenography space highlights tapestry and ceramics. It allows the public to discover the universe of TRAME. This space is open to all and allows small local craftsmen from Calabria and Morocco to live.

Innovative character

This project is innovative because it is the first store of TRAME PARIS.

Textures were created especially for this project, mixing plaster with clay from Calabria or sand from Morocco.
