Fashion Map – SK is a unique list of Slovak local fashion spots, concept stores, ateliers and showrooms which aim to lead audience toward authentic local fashion and design scene. It helps the authors and ambassadors to be seen and to build their awareness at the professional, public or tourist audience. The map exists in classical paper format and in 2020-2021 grows into digital space in order to be able to include asa many designers and fashion and design.

Summary
We all love to discover and explore new local shops, concept stores, fashion studios, and showrooms. We look for authentic experiences and feel good shopping and this reflects in our mood and communication to others. This is one of the attributes of high-quality cities that can be offered to their citizens as well as tourists. Bratislava Fashion Map is a proof that Bratislava is such a city and we can be proud of what it has to offer. Bratislava Fashion Map (BFM) is a list of local shops, concept stores, fashion studios, showrooms and other retailers and relevant spots that predominantly offer or promote Slovak and local fashion. Bratislava Fashion Map is an important tool that helps develop Slovak fashion industry and adds to other successful tools that help develop fashion tourism on a global level. We have received an excellent feedback from everyone who has seen the map here in Slovakia or abroad – including the stores, designers, fashion studios, showrooms and many industry experts and professionals. Slovak Fashion Council sees the necessity and at the same time the potential of the fashion system and the creative industry and thereby their evolution in Slovakia. Quality selling points and possibilities of the presentation of the design are a must for a healthy fashion ecosystem. They allow sustainability of functioning of local economies and last but not least they are a reflection of our city. BFM enables quality designers, gallerists and traders to be seen and found not only by the local customers but also by foreign tourists.
Key objectives for sustainability
Fashion is a segment which needs huge changes in order to become sustainable. There are many pillars which define sustainability in fashion as materials, transparency, human rights, waste, chemicals and water and consumption. Our Fashion map is a tool that drives the attention to local slow fashion which meets standards in transparency, materials, human rights and living wage and tries to reduce the consumption of fast fashion as it drives the attention of consumers to local and sustainable designers and brands in fashion. Fashion Map – SK is a great tool how to make fashion a sustainable segment here in Slovakia as it teaches consumers the alternatives and gives them the opportunity to reconsider their shopping behaviour and decitions.
Fashion MAP–SK is also great tool for making a city attractive for tourists - as they seek for local authenticity and thanks to a tool like fashiion map we can turn their attention to interesting points of focus in our city/ country and so the system becomes sustainable as the micro business need the suport not only form local audience, but they need the foreigners to enlarge the market and bring valuable feedback and interest.
Making local fashion scene more visible makes the business system work and so the SMEs are on their way to business sustainability in long term.
We see several important touch-points why fashion is a tool for sustainable culture, business, system and growth as it supports new ideas, strong visions and innovations.

Fashion MAP – SK shows in one directory the best local design and fashion spots and so naturally drives the attention to aesthetics and quality experience. Design makes our life not only better looking, but bette working and makins it more effective and sustainable. We believe that putting on one list the best of local fashion scene automatically show beauty, aesthetics and improves the taste as as well as the feeling for long-term solutions and visions in fashion and design.
Bringing fashion design alive on the wearers makes the world more eye-appealing and inspiring and it drives our attention to better decitions. Well dressed man our woman is absolutely a representant of hight-quality taste and gives us an opportunity to promote a life-style full of mindful little decisions that inspire our surrounding.
Fashion is definitely about beauty and aesthetics and not only in a fashion way of trends and new collections form well-known brands. Good fashion design shows beauty in materials, in arts and crafts, in professional skills, in finding better alternatives for communication, in making us fee better during our days and nights too.
Thanks to our Fashion Map we are able to introduce new brands and fashion spots to audience and we feel very strong influence on our local level as the customer base is growing and each year we have more members in the map.
Key objectives for inclusion
Fashion Map – SK has its structure and criteria list that needs to be met in order to be come a member of the mat. And we are inviting as much diverse inputs as possible in order to create a strong database full of recomended, hight quality options in all important fashion segments (womanswear, menswear, shoes, acccessories, kidswear...).
And this directory in a form of a map is available for each and everyone here on Slovakia or abroad in order to get the best overview and options for their searches and interest. Local fashion is definitely inclusive and is created in order to find its target and very often it can be even very niche and so it can be definitely described as very inclusive. Our Fashion Map – SK is available for free to everyone in print or online.
Results in relation to category
Mapping of our local fashion segment and creating a Map offers an opportunity to change strongly lifestyle of general consumers and make it more aware of the impact of their decisions. Building the audience, making it more educated and aware of the synergic effects in the segment gives them a great tool and opportunity how to use their consumer power to create a sustainable change in the field of fashion Consumer it the main part in the fashion system and he/she has the power to change the way the segment works as only those they support will grow.
Fashion Map is definitely a good way how to make the local scene visible and so it contributes to the lifestyle change towards a sustainable world.

A city, a capital needs to build its position as a city full of authentic atmosphere to create its unique image and position in the minds of it inhabitants and tourist as well. The authenticity id created by the content that its citizens bring and make alive in the everyday life and give its a soul and so make it a good place to live, work, learn, enjoy and of course, support create, develop and present.
Our Fashion Map is a list of authentic places that give its citizens many many reasons where to find quality, inspiration, authentic spirit and also an opportunity to explain what our city is like and what to see in the city in order to learn the specifics of that country.
Innovative character
Fashion Map – SK and Fashion Map Bratislava is the only list with mapping of fashion design in Slovakia and so it is a unique tool how to show the scale of this segment and as we are working on it continuously, we can demonstrate the growth in the sector. In 2017 we had there around 12 spots and today it is more than 80 places and designers in Bratislava region.
The added value is that thanks to this list everyone can see the offer and portfolio of the fashion segment on one place and see its structure and explore the spots and not only learn the creators but also find spaces where they can develop their relationship to this scene and learn its specifics in order to understand the value it creates.
