Summary
COMMOD HOUSE BSL the "SUN HOUSE" with 80m² GFA consists of 2 modules in wooden beam construction, which are stretched in L-shape. The house was manufactured in the factory and moved in only 1.5 hours on the building site on screw foundations. The unstructable view over the Graz hill country to the Koralpe is overlooked from the sheltered sun terrace. A well thought-out and optimized room layout creates space and at the same time allows for openness, making the living area the light-flooded center of the house and the focal point between the two bedrooms.
The sun can reach every corner of the house, making the "Sun House" a place of energy that nevertheless shields itself from the slope.
Key objectives for sustainability
Recyclable materials : In fact, the vast majority of the materials that make up COMMOD HOUSE BSL are recyclable. This is the case with steel, which makes up most of the reinforcements and frames. The same goes for metal joinery or chipboard floors which can be reused to construct other modular building modules.
Factory prefabrication in Slovenia : Factory prefabrication is a major asset. It reduces the impact on the environment because the entire construction and recycling process is under control. The use of raw materials is perfectly optimized, thus considerably limiting the production of waste.
Energy efficient, for a modern look : Modular homes have always been seen as low quality, but COMMOD HOUSE has not, thanks to a modern, geometric exterior finish favoring open spaces and letting in natural light.
Efficient, economical and customizable : COMMOD HOUSE SUN HOUSE was delivered "ready to move in", that is to say turnkey, with all the desired finishes and interior fittings. Electricity, heating, plumbing, coating, painting, tiling, parquet floors, but also equipped kitchen, bathroom, furniture or terrace, our customers can choose all the options they wish.
Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
A special highlight is the view window in the form of an orthogonal trapezoid. A modern interpretation of the window beam shades the room as needed, thus making the opening disappear as if by magic in the larch wood facade.
The materials used are predominantly wood and wood products. The oiled larch wood facade with vertical back-ventilated rhomboid wood form-work extends around the entire envelope of the house and, together with wooden windows in 3-pane glazing and a core-insulated handmade wooden entrance security door, forms the visual finish of the modular house.
The thermal finish is also achieved ecologically and naturally with wood products such as cellulose blow-in insulation in the floor, wall and roof areas and soft wood fiber boards on the facade.
Inside, natural materials predominate, such as the real wood oak plank flooring and the oiled spruce beams that span the high gable area. The open ceiling areas make the rooms airy and flooded with light. Dark wood makes a very pleasant and healthy indoor climate.
By using screw foundations, the modular house can also be completely dismantled without leaving any traces on the property. All materials used are recyclable or degradable according to the cradle-to-cradle principle and thus make a positive contribution to environmental protection and resource conservation. The base area was discreetly and permanently ventilated with anthracite perforated sheeting to block the way of animals.
The outdoor area with carport, storage room and entrance area roofing was also added coherently as a wooden structure and convinces in detail of the overall composition of the wooden house.
Key objectives for inclusion
All COMMOD houses are designed individually and no two houses are the same! Sun House can be adapted to changing circumstances according to the individual needs,cultures and belongings. The principle of ´house which grows with you´ also applies in the inclusive requirements and conditions in the future scenarios. Extensions can be removed and sold just as added in the beginning. Customers are accepted in their individuality. No matter if they built their house on their own or with their family or in community regardless of their religion or cultural background. COMMOD houses fulfill their special needs.

The SUN HOUSE is composed of 2 modules in L-Shape plan and it totals 80m² in GFA. The sun terrace provides a sheltered space for unhindered views across the rolling countryside of Graz all the way across to the Koralpe. The optimized room layout allows openness, meanwhile providing a central, light flooded space that spans the two bedrooms. The sun penetrates every corner of the house and makes the “sun house” an energy place.An orthogonal trapezoidal window forms a special feature of this house, providing a specific viewpoint. Balustrade, the window opens to the left of the window.

The assembly in modules has been designed so that no thermal bridge is possible, and to optimize energy consumption.

This means that the impact on nature is much less than with conventional than with conventional building sites, and almost complete dismantling is possible in a resource-saving way.
