Obsidiana COMPAC is a pioneering material in sustainability, produced with 100% recycled glass and is 100% recyclable. Thus, it establishes a mileston in construction and deisgn since it takes advantage of all the glas waste generated by the Society, giving it a new use for architecture. In addition, thanks to the years of work of the R+D+i department, a beautiful and unique design inspired by volcanic crystals is achieved.

Summary
Obsidiana COMPAC is a pioneering material in sustainability, produced with 100% recycled glass and is 100% recyclable. Thus, it establishes a mileston in construction and deisgn since it takes advantage of all the glas waste generated by the Society, giving it a new use for architecture. In addition, thanks to the years of work of the R+D+i department, a beautiful and unique design inspired by volcanic crystals is achieved. Moreover, this extraordinary product can be applied on a wide variety of surfaces.
Moreover this material, which is created exclusively by COMPAC has recently been awarded with the Cradle to Cradle TM Bronze. This recognition is delivered every two years, so, Obsidiana COMPAC is the unique material worlwide to gained this recognition in the surfaces market during this period of time.
Key objectives for sustainability
Obsidiana COMPAC's mineral load is 100% pre- and post- consumer recycled glass, giving a new use for the discarded waste, creating a completely recycled, recyclable, sustainable material with zero silica content (SCR). Additionally, it should be added that the electrical energy used during the process comes from renewable sources and, like all COMPAC products, is produced by a rainwater collection system, which in turn is recycled in the plants themselves. Thanks to this system of production and reuse of recycled materials, it has been possible to give new uses for products that seemed to have reached the end of their life cycle. As a result of tis commitment to sustainability Obsidiana COMPAC has obtained the prestigious Cradle to Cradle TM Certified Bronze recognition that endorses the sustainable charactersitics of the material and its contribution to the circular economoy.
Obsidiana COMPAC has managed to five a 180 degree turn to the industrial processes that are known to date. It is a declaration of intentions raised by the multinational that trascendes the values and products known to this day in construction and architecture.
Obsidiana COMPAC meets the qualities of versatility applied in: interiors, wall cladding, shelves, countertops, showr trays, vanities, backsplash, sinks and kitchens. Its technique and quality demostrate, through demanding tests, that Obsidiana COMPAC is resistant: to bend, abrasion, sliding, impact and chemical resistance, as well as the water absorption system, scratch hardness, apparent density and coefficient of thermal expansion.
It should be noted that Obsidiana COMPAC offers a multiple range of products, specifically, two extraordinary collections have been crewated, Volcano and Astral, with a unique design that are already being applied in the most prestigious architectural projects of the moment. Within the Volcano collection we find 6 creations, regarding the Astral 3 designs.

Obsidiana COMPAC meets completey to Buildings renovated in a spirit of circularity as it gained the Cradle to Cradle ™ Certified®. This certification is a globally recognized measure of safer, more sustainable products made for the circular economy.
To recieve certification, products are assessed for environmental and social performance across five critical sustainability categories: material health, material reuse, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness. Obsidiana COMPAC is assigned a Bronze level. This recognition is delivered every two years.
COMPAC thus becomes the only company in its sector with the Cradle to Cradle ™ distinction during two years and consolidates its presence and solvency in the market. Obtaining this recognition is one of the results of the effort and dedication that the company has made to add value to current architecture.
