Project Description
During your stroll through town you suddenly stop and see a placard which is also an object positioned in space. Through its perforated letters and motives you peek into the reality behind it. And behind it is an unflattering scenery of garbage roaming wildly on the street. Perforated letters say „What is your vision for the future“ and implicitly transcribe reality behind the placard to the perforated letters.

Description of the project
Summary
Idea for this piece emerged from reflection upon placard as a medium for transmission of ideas and information. Placard by itself is a rather limited form in terms of applied art. It is a large piece of paper with imprinted letters and motives created in graphical preparation by graphical designer. After thorough reflection on the mentioned medium, the conclusion was clear. As a form it must become more than two dimensional, it must become and object which communicates through and with the environment. And consequently, placard-object idea came to be, made with recycled wood through modern CNC machine process with previous graphical preparation. The piece has a phisically cut perforations in shape of motives and letters. Concept of the placard is created with environment in focus, the placard itself is not the main actor here, rather the envirnoment that surrounds it. The environment which we closely percieve through mentioned perforations.
Motive on the placard itself is a child with gaze focused on planet Earth, for this child Earth is a marvel worth of admiration. Under the child motive there is a question for each admirer to introspect through. That question is „What is your vision of the future?“, that question is the question that should invoke awareness about the reality that makes the present moment.
This idea is imagined as a piece placed in public spaces where people tend to make human mess, in other words where people leave their mark more than they actually should. Public spaces include a local bus stop where garbage can is always thrown on the ground, local park where people often forget to appreciate nature or a wild landfill. However, this piece or placard-object can be used to show progress, to show admiration and care for the world we live in and be used in places where people treat nature with respect and humility.
Key objectives for sustainability
be met:
Key goals of this idea are raising awareness of ecological problems, motivation of thought processes towards actual state of the environment we live in, also to prompt the reflection on how we want the future to look like. Furthermore, this placard-object has also a function of monition toward the ones who don't stop and think about how their actions can reflect on future. On the other hand, positive conotations of this placard-object can comfort beholders and focus their awareness on the beauty and splendor of planet Earth. Placed in a position like a natural park or a random place in the forest or a city park with nice flowers, it will bring the place to focus, it will reflect the reality as it is. We also must reflect upon our vision of future in terms of sustainable development and state in which we will pass this only home we have to our descendants.
We can say that this piece is meant for two polarities, and the spectrum between them. It is meant to be placed in frequent public places where care for the environment is rather questionable. But also for places of wonderous natural beauty in any sense that one can imagine. In the end, the placard-object itself is not the point, the point is environment that we want to reflect on. After further development this piece can become a jumbo version for placement beside frequent roads or highways which often cut through nature and therefore the idea itself becomes sustainable and self expanding. Also, motives can be changed based on the location of placement and therefore can be freshed and appropriate towards local culture and beholders.
Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
Placard-object by itself is very aesthetic and appealing through its minimalist, industrial design. Except aforementioned, main aesthetic goal of this piece is not on the piece itself, but on the environment that surrounds it. Therefore, choice of placement location is of extreme importance because symbiose between two delivers unique experience for each and every piece. Furthermore, usage of recycled materials that can be reused firewood or left to merge with nature once again.

Innovative character
Inovation of this idea is visible in the very seed of its creation, in other words it is visible through evolution of two-dimensional traditional form into higher dimension form present in environment as independet piece. Idea also bring deepth to traditional form, because focus is now shifted from the placard itself towards its background environment. Its goal is to attract our attention to something that is not explicitly part of placard-object, which is impossible to do with traditional form. Traditional form makes font, vibrant colors and dynamic compositions important factor in grabbing beholders attention. However, with this idea none of it matter, because the world, the reality, the now that surrounds the piece is what matters. With that being said, placard-object idea is inherently inovative as a result of evolution of traditional form as medium for delivering information. Inovation is new form, created to be easily spotted and meticoulous in its task to bring beholder in present moment, in moment of awareness towards our environment and our planet Earth.
