Description of the project
Summary
PIXEL BIKES ONE & MAX is a range of balance bikes for children.
Pixel One is a balance bike for children from 1 to 2 years old to learn to walk easily and develop coordination and balance.
Its maximum innovation is in its wheels without spokes.
Using an innovative internal sliding system and with self-lubricating materials, the wheels turn on themselves without the need for bearings. This allows the bike to be visually lightened as well as allowing it to be hung or caught by the wheel well.
In addition, many other design details are worked on such as:
a shock protector for the face in the center of the handlebar in soft material
An ergonomic seat in comfortable soft material
double front wheel for stability and safety
modular and easy to assemble design
The frame and the other pieces are made of 100% recyclable materials
Pixel max
The Max version is the evolution of the successful pixel one. A balance bike in this case for children 2-4 years old that allows height adjustment of both the seat and the handlebars, making it evolutionary and more durable. Like its predecessor it has a hubless wheel system without spokes that allows easy transportation and prevents accidents between the feet and the spokes of the tires. Too. It incorporates a protector in the central area of the handlebar protecting the small user from possible blows to the chin and mouth.
Made by combining multiple processes and 100% recyclable materials.
Key objectives for sustainability
All the process prototypes of design was made with compostable materials and the final product its made with 95% of recycled materials. The frame are 100% recycled material and the wheels are made by 100% recyclable TPE. Using this material instead of non recyclable rubber o vulcanized silicones that can not be recycled again. Also packaging is made by FSC certified paper.
Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
Visually is lighter than other balance bikes and its hubless wheel gives and emptiness effect that makes innovative and special. The hubless wheel alow to fix in the handles of the baby strollers easily and the bumpers are perfectly designed to protect the baby against shocks.
Its nice design was awarded internationally with the IF awards finallist, European design award gold in baby products category and the muse award.
Key objectives for inclusion
All designs are unisex and has no difference betwen gender. No different color for girl and boy. Assembly was made in a special center of disabled people like deaf-mute, lame people etc. with spacial risk of labor and social exclusion.
